As of right now, do you think UofL will be in the big dance?

A win over Virginia would solidify it IMO. As of right NOW, too close to call. This was a must win situation today and we passed this test.

this win keeps it in play but I am assuming it will take an NC State Win and possibly a UVA win to secure a bid. What is the consensus here?

Still more work to do for this team. They aren't in for sure as of now IMO. Just keep winning.

I was proud of the EFFORT today. Had that EFFORT been present against Duke, the Cards would not have been embarrassed. It would have been a loss just the same, but they wouldn't have been embarrassed.

What I saw today was a team playing with EFFORT. I liked what I saw today. Today this team competed. That is all I ever ask for.

Win 1 and have a good run in ACC tourney and we're in.
That is the key. Win the next one to get to 10 wins in the ACC and it'll be difficult to keep them out. Win both and they're in. Lose both and they'll have to at least advance to the ACC championship game to have a shot at getting in.

If we beat Virginia we’ll be in, if not,I think we will need to win the NCST and first round game.
I think the NCAA will further punish us if they can by bursting our bubble on selection Sunday. Beat UVA and a first round ACC win I think we are in. Beat NCSU and 2 ACC tourney wins I'd say were in. Beat UVA and lose the other two I think we are out.

I've said all along 10 conference wins and we're in. Need one of these last two. If that doesn't happen, need a deep run in the ACCT.

As of today after the Va tech win majority of site projections have us penciled in the last three out slot. So definitely need to win at least 1 game of the last two just too remain in that category. Selection sunday is going to be a very long wait and see for us this year. Gonna suck either way cause we are going to get a terrible seed if we get in.

We could play ourselves in to a very good seed by winning out, and then winning the ACC tourney. The chances of that happening are very slim.

The ACC is considered the top or 2nd best conference. To win 10 games is virtually a shoe in. There are 5 teams with 10 or more. 3 teams including us with 9 wins. FSU is sitting at 8 wins and needs to win out to get to 10. They play Clemson and BC. We split with FSU head to head. VT has 9 wins but also has Duke and Miami. We have tie breaker over VT because we beat them both games. Miami has UNC and VT which could mean two losses, so if we win one we jump them. Just based on what we do regular season in the ACC could say a lot.

Right now? Barely. But if we lose to both NCST and UVA we’re out unless we win the ACC tournament, which is very unlikely. Beating just NCST and making and early exit from the ACC tournament is a recipe for the NIT. No room for error!

We lose out including the ACC tournament I doubt we get in. We could lose out in the regular season games and win a couple of games in the tournament and still get in. A lot will depend on what other teams do.

This was a bad year for us to be on the bubble. The selection committee is human, and they've seen all the stories about UofL's scandals. I don't believe we will get in if we're on the Bubble. Because of the scandals.

This year if we were going to go to the NCAA Tournament we needed to have the kind of resume that's irrefutable. If they do decide to send us home to "send a message" no one in the country is going to feel outrage or feel sorry for us. It's going to be easy to do.

At this stage, I think we need to win the ACC Tournament, or they will find a way to leave us out. Tall order for a team that's struggled against the best teams in the league all year.

We get 10 wins in the ACC AND 1 win in the ACC tourney, we're in.

JMO

Get 11 wins, and win 2 in the ACC toourney, we're a 4 or 5 seed. Win the ACC tourney, and we could rise as high as a 3 seed IMO.

From an eye test perspective and just throwing out the analytical numbers, Louisville is a top 20-40 team (if you throw out records due to schedule strength) that belongs in the big dance. I've seen some clunkers against good teams, but not really bad losses to teams you all should not have lost.

The record is not top notch, but non conference games on the road at Rupp and Purdue and a brutal conference slate has a lot to do with that fact.

I think Louisville is a team to watch if they have the right draw. Senior point guard, capable 3-point shooters, and a lot of length all over the court. Deng Adel and Q have to be the ones to make it all happen. If Kevin Ollie can take that awful UConn squad on a run to a title, Padgett and this bunch certainly can do it if they get hot.

Just an outside perspective.

I agree with this take. As a matter of fact I was discussing this with my daughter. We won’t get any breaks. Winning the ACC would be great, but won’t happen. And don’t know that we have to win it, but we don’t win a game or two they could keep us out. Should say they will keep us out.

I just don't know how much more we can be punished. Honestly...have we not paid for our crime? This is most likely our last good year for a few years until we can rebuild. Plus we basically sat out an "extra year" for nothing (Lee/Lewis season). If we don't make the tournament as you suggest based on previous crimes, then this whole punishment is nearly a ten year sentence dating back to 2011. Pretty damn UNFAIR if you ask me.

No. Can only point to one solid win, Va Tech on road with several bad home losses. And losing by 29 to a uk team that sucks.

Yes...this says it all. But if you read their board, they are world beaters because they have beaten 3 crappy ass SEC teams.

I think the UK loss hurts us bad because as you said, they suck.

Must win at NC St....and then at least 2-3 ACC tournament games....and then maybe a chance.....the NCAAT committee will not be merciful....at all. Must earn their way in....or it looks like NIT.....which I would hope they decline the invite.

Well, the window just got a helluva a lot narrower. Have to beat NC State and then a couple games in the ACCT to maybe squeak into the Tourney.

Lunardi had us 99% in with a victory tonight and 84% in with a loss. Lunardi is pretty accurate on predicting the field, so it looks pretty good (as hard as it is for me to believe).

False hope. The team feels like they're already in. No effort on the court. They'll be "shocked" when we're left off.

No..and quite honestly don't care I have been disinterested in college basketball all season Something just stinks to me about college basketball at the moment

I'd say we are out of we lose first round game? Keep hoping this team will wake up and they do momentarily and then fade back into oblivion. There is no floor leader and that is so important. Nobody gets fired up and high fives other players. That kind of stuff. It's a laid back team without an alpha male.

What does it matter? One tournament game max.

Howie is doing a Twitter poll. With 575 votes in right now, 73% say NO, we will not be in the tournament. Sadly, I also voted that way.

The committee will not put us in unless they have to. Win the ACC tourney is the only way-all the rest is BS. THEY HATE US-THEY HAVE ALWAYS HATED US, THEY WILL CONTINUE TO HATE US...FOREVER. We aren't Duke, or UNC, or UCLA or Arizona. We are hilljack, redneck, cheating Louisville who would sell their mother for a title. That is the perception, and it will remain this way for all of our lifetimes. Get used to it. Lawyer up and fight, its the only way.

It could work the other way, too. You know, the pity vote?
