Deion Sanders came up with what I admit is a great idea- to have the spring game against another team. It would probably be a controlled scrimmage sort of like in the NFL. Who should the Cards invite for their spring game?
It's a fun idea, but it would be poach-apalooza for other teams. They'd be able to scout and recruit players from two teams at once.Deion Sanders came up with what I admit is a great idea- to have the spring game against another team. If ESPN pays a team to fly, to take a thumping, they'll fly.I don't know why a team would fly anywhere to do this. Why couldn't you schedule this sort of thing with a closer school? Now, you wouldn't want to schedule it with your rival, so UK is for sure out, and probably Cincy (even without the Satterfield angle) is out. But you could schedule Ohio, Bowling Green, Akron, Miami, Toledo, Dayton, Youngstown....
Oh yeah, if it's paid for sure. I was speaking from the perspective of an AD who has to consider the budget. If ESPN pays a team to fly, to take a thumping, they'll fly.
