Great Stuff. Lots of thoughts.
Please share.

My initial thought is that there are more than 2 ways to build/rebuild your roster. The ACC coaches have embraced heavy use of the portal, no use or very little so far and stuck to the HS recruit model and llkely red shirting system that has been the norm for many years in CFB as their path to success. And some are taking a hybrid approach of using both in more moderate degrees.

It will be interesting this year to see how these approaches result in W/L records for all the teams in tandem with the new expansion teams and different styles and approaches.

I think SMU was /is smart on how their approaching/building to compete as a P5 team now. Will be interesting to see what impact their new stadium, insertion of cash (for NIL) , and heavy portal recruiting approach pans out for them.

They saw and jumped on this method to get there the fastest way possible for their situation (upgrading conferences and competition level).

This is going to be a bridge year for the ACC to what lies ahead of the league and CFB state of health in general. New markets, new ideas, new coaching styles vs the tobacco road stalwarts who refuse to embrace or adapt to the new way of doing business. It will be determined in the conference race who has it right so far....Clemson, WF, NC State and Stanford or UofL, G Tech, Cuse, SMU, Miami, and FSU. Good fun coming in this clash of models. Time will tell.

I respect and like the CJB way. Winning big again this this year will make a strong statement and validate his use of this model. Results and performance matter. He is also a way better coach at this point in time than Neon Deon at Colorado.

The ACC is now known to me as the All Coast Conference. Thoughts???Comments???
