ACC getting hosed by the committee

Louisville goes on the road beats a good Miami team and Missouri struggles with hapless Florida but Missouri stays ahead of Louisville. I guess the eye test only works for when 1 of the SEC, BIG 10 or Pac 12 plays a good game. FSU gets dropped because of a injury but it didn’t happen to Georgia when their superstar TE got hurt. All a joke imo.
I like the one guy who said if we are going to use the eye test on FSU then why aren’t we using it on Michigan? Sad thing is FSU blew out that team Saturday.

I think they do a lot of selection and pairing of teams in all college sports for TV viewers. They want teams from the Midwest, Southeast and the West coast. If there ever was a team good enough from the Northeast they would want that team also. The rankings and pairings all across college sports are dictated by the networks who pay the money to get the most viewers not the best teams.

The committee wants to prop up the SEC. Why is Tenn. still in the polls? They just all their teams to look like they have impressive wins when, in fact, they don’t. I think they want to make a case for Alabama getting in.

The bias is getting even worse:

The current CFP rankings Top 14 teams have 7 teams who will play for the SEC next season. And 5 teams who will play for the Big Ten next season. Only 2 non-P2 teams: Those 2 teams will play for the ACC next season (Florida State and Louisville).

The only thing that will be different going forward will be ... ALMOST NOTHING. One of those 2 teams in the ACC now will likely switch to the SEC in the future. It will become the P2 Invitational.

A few quick "did you knows" on the Cardinals:

Did you know Louisville has six wins against bowl-eligible Power 5 opponents? That's more than any other team in the country.

Did you know Louisville has a road win over a ranked opponent, something Oregon, Alabama and Missouri are all missing from their résumés?

Did you know Louisville's strength of record is better than Missouri's?

And yes, Louisville lost to Pitt in a game in which its best offensive player had two touches and, in the rain and bad weather, the Cardinals turned the ball over three times.

The Pitt loss is an anchor dragging Louisville for understandable reasons, but it certainly seems as if a dominant win over Notre Dame or a road win against 8-3 NC State should count for something. And while this was largely semantics before Travis' injury at Florida State, there's a very real scenario now where Louisville runs the table the rest of the way and earns an ACC championship with a 12-1 record.

And if that happens, the committee has made it clear the Cards will still be at the back of the line when it comes to playoff positioning.

Very well said. Right on! And so right about the Pitt game.

Best case scenario:

Georgia wins out (13-0), giving Bama two losses.
Ohio State or Michigan wins out (13-0), leaving a one loss Ohio State/Michigan.
Washington wins out (13-0), giving Oregon two losses.
Louisville wins out (12-1), giving Florida State its first loss.
Oklahoma wins out (11-2), giving Texas two losses.

THUS, the last CFP Spot will come down to either a One Loss ACC Champ Louisville, or a Two Loss Big-12 Champ Oklahoma... In that case, SOS will come into play.

At present Louisville's SOS is 64th, but they would have played SEVEN Bowl Eligible Teams (Eight if Virginia Tech beats Virginia on Saturday), PLUS, Louisville is the ONLY P-5 Team that would have played Twelve P-5 Teams (Winning Eleven of them), during the season.

There's no way the Committie in good conscience, could, would or should select a NON-Winning BIG One-Loss Ohio State or Michigan, or a NON-Winning Two-Loss SEC Alabama, or Two-Loss Big-12 Texas, or Missouri over Louisville!!!

And with Oklahoma having Two Losses and ranked behind Louisville in the current CFP, I don't see them leapfrogging Louisville even after beating Texas a second time!

That's you current CFP Top Ten plus Oklahoma.

PLAYOFFS:

(1) Georgia vs. (4) Louisville

(2) Ohio State/Michigan vs. (3) Washington
