First and foremost this opens up two schollies, Lee and of course Rowan are the names floated. I have said it for two months that this could wouldnt be around. Hes listening to the wrong people former Louisville players that didnt make it here. I do know this for a fact. I would love to get Lee at least for this year and use that other scholly and a bigger named Frosh. a power forward or Center? who knows what Pitino is thinking, I have heard for Lee Maryland is the team to beat. And they will be good next year. Rowan is good but he will still be RAW. Lee and Lewis along with Snider and any kind of development from Johnson, Mathiang, Onuaku, and the EGYPTIAN ENERGIZER and we could be looking at something special next year. I really wish Pitino would pickup just a one and done big guy, but thats me. Again historically the teams that win the tournament are teams that have special guards, Duke (allen, jones) UConn (napier, boatright) UofL (siva, hancock, smith) UK (teague played huge, Lamb, of course Davis played huge but he didnt score a ton)Uconn from 2011(KEMBA) 2010 Duke(singler, scheyer, Nolan Smith) as you can see guards win these type of formats more so than bigs and as UK just found out.

I disagree that we need a PF and/or a center. We need guards. From everything I have seen, Spaulding will be the real deal. Also Onuaku is really a PF not a center. Throw in that Matz Stockman will have a full year of conditioning along with Mahmoud, Johnson and we have some talented bigs. Right now we don't know what Snider can become and we only get Lewis a year.

We are bring in Deng Adel more than likely we will add Rowan either this or next year and if we add Lee we don't need forwards or guards. Spalding is a project, keep in mind hes playing against guys much smaller and still not dominating. he will need to develop. nothing makes me think we can be deep in the frontcourt with Onuaku and Mangok. STOCKMAN???? really???? he is our version of lukash orbzut from UK. I am very high on Mahmoud and Johnson but the others just in my opinion don't have the talent. if we add lee and rowan, that would give us Snider, Mitchell, lewis, lee, Adel and Rowan. I would think we would be just fine at the guard and forward spot. THE BIGS ARE THE QUESTION????

It helps because he doesn't want to be here.

The team is returning no scoring so chemistry will be real important next year. We can't have a guy that was incredibly unhappy as a FR coming back as a SOPH with the same mentality, and it's pretty obvious he wasn't going to turn a corner during the off season. I hate saying addition by subtraction but....

The roster is almost complete, they will struggle big time early but if they stick together they could get hot late.

Spaulding is not a "project". Is a starter as a freshman? No. He will develop and contribute. He has a good jump shot and is more of a 4 than the 5 he played in H.S. He has good hands and is a good passer. He also has good defensive skills. His deficiency, if any, is that he is nice guy and needs to be more aggressive when he steps on the floor. He didn't "dominate" in high school because he wasn't the focus of the offense. Why? I don't know. I just know his team under performed at the end of the year. Spaulding only got 6 touches in the game against Ballard. Was that because of Ballard's great defense, or a Chris Jones offense by his high school team where the first one to get the ball shot the 3.
