I’ve been told that two of the 2023 prospects that Louisville is going to offer first will be local products in Male’s Kaleb Glenn and CAL’s George Washington III, along with national top recruit Gus Yalden.
Chris Mack usually won’t offer sophomores until June leading up to their junior year, but it will be interesting to see if any of that changes up with Covid.
With Glenn, if he grows to be 6’7”, he’ll be a prototype small ball four in today’s game. Hybrid wing with great strength and elite athleticism. Developing outside shot and handle, but gets most of his points from down low due to being stronger than 99% of HS basketball players.
‘G’ Washington is a 6’1” guard that’s still learning the point guard spot, but has some of the best tools to work with of any kid in the KY-IN-OH area. It’s all about polishing the rough edges in a few areas. Fantastic shooter and good athlete, but is more of a combo guard than point guard at this time. He’ll get there, though.
Gus Yalden is very fun to watch. Great playmaker from the block and high post. His passing ability has landed him the nickname ‘Baby Jokic’ after the Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic. Both are slower footed — Yalden has trimmed weight and gotten faster since being at IMG, by the way — but can shoot the heck out of the ball and are in the 99th percentile for playmaking ability out of big men. Yalden is very skilled and has nice footwork.
