1/2/22 LOUISVILLE AT GEORGIA TECH GAME THREAD - 6:00 PM ESPN2

Love Davis
Me too. With his skill set, hustle, and grit, he is a traditional PF in a SF body. He doesn't shy away from contact, backs his man down and does work. On the flip side, he can't dribble or shoot the 3 like a traditional SF. Still like his heart.

Has there ever been a Card regress more than Withers?

At this point, it's just beyond sad.
Never seen a player regress quite like this.

Question to you all:

Do you believe the problem is Withers himself, this new system, coaching, playing out of position, a combination of the above, or something else?

I think he fancies himself as a 3 but he hasn’t improved his dribbling or shooting enough to do that. And instead of doing the things he’s capable of and can be successful at (rebounding, put backs, defending 3, 4 and 5’s), he’s trying to prove that he’s a wing.

I can only guess, but how do you go from inside presence to what we see now unless somebody's in his ear.

I believe it is possible something off the court is eating away at Withers. I cannot explain this regression based on the way he played last year and what he's doing out there now. I'm not going to go pull his stats over his last 5, because it's too sad to review. This dude roamed the baseline on the hunt last year and just seemed to have a really good idea on what he needed to do. This year, he looks lost.

At some point, they gotta yank his min per. He's steady getting the 15-25 without looking it up, I just don't see how you can keep doing this to him and the team. Then again, I'm not sure the Cards could beat a legit T25 team without him contributing.

It's a mess like none other.

Don’t agree about Withers being a traditional power forward. Why? He plays “small” for a guy his size, playing way below the rim. He’s not super athletic and needs to get fundamental post moves when he does venture inside. If he would utilize ball fakes and patience when getting an entry pass he’d stand a better chance.

He appears to be letting his poor play affect every part of his game and it’s in his head now. I expect him to enter the portal at season’s end and it will probably be best for both him and the team.

nice road win. offense looks a little better with more movement. shot 48% from the floor. FT shooting needs improvement at 64%.

Some good recruiting news we landed Kamari Lands. he is 6-8. 4 star ranked at #48.
