Do you guys still Love Ricky P?

Pitino was canned over Adidas. And no one found him responsible for anything.

That firing was also without due process, and we owed him $30+ million.

An apology would have been a cheap exit strategy.

Truth be told, a whole lot of other people in addition to Pitino deserve apologies for the state of the athletics program. Pitino’s just one guy…
Adidas was just the straw that broke the camel’s back, and it was done under his watch.
I’m not sure who’s supposed to apologize to him? You could write an anonymous letter apologizing to him.
I think ol’ slick Rick has traded his white suit for some big blue PJs!

Statistically, how bad is the defense? NC2A stats:

We're definitely struggling but we have faced great QB's so far. Not counting the FCS team, the weakest QB we have faced is Riley Leonard at ND. The dude from Jax State is killing it.

And we still have Castellenous at BC and Kubinek at Clemson and Holston with Pitt. We don't see below average QB's until the last two games against Stanford and UK.

Compare that to Indiana for example. Trade schedules with them we're undefeated and they have three losses.

It's so ironic how IU got out of playing UofL during the season they happen to have their best team in decades.

Brohm better get used to this though and find a defense that can handle it.

I think one of the reasons we have so many injuries is not that the players aren’t tough, but that they don’t hit in practice. When that happens your body doesn’t hold up as well when you are hit in a game. Also, I suspect that a lot of the non-contact injuries are due to the fact that these guys spend so much time in the weight room that other aspects of conditioning, including flexibility and endurance suffer. It’s just a theory.

The CFP selection committee won’t release their first rankings until November 5th. You’re looking at AP and Coaches polls which are not used to select the playoff teams.

I have very little doubt that multiple 2-loss teams will make the playoffs this year.
The fact the a committee picks the playoff teams makes the whole system worthless.

Long way to go. VT could play for the ACC title. Vandy could play for the SEC title. IU could play for the Big Ten title. Scheduling plays a role in these bigger leagues. Louisville benefited last year. They aren’t benefiting this year but boy they had a golden opportunity and didn’t take advantage.

It is what it is your team has to win games. It really is that simple.
Simple yes. Easy? No.

Another ACC rip-off

We’re acting like this is a surprise?

Brohm has NEVER been known for defense. Why did we just assume we’d have one?

If he’s going to make the name for himself, and UofL, that we’re all hoping, he better give up the OC job, manage the team….and get serious about defense for a change.

Just “good” defense could be enough IF he builds his offense.
U of L in general has been known more for offense than defense, though we have had some good defensive players and some good defenses over the years, especially under Charlie. I think Coach English probably needs to go. They need someone who not only understands how to teach fundamentals and schemes but someone who can recruit that side of the ball. It’s not easy.

Cam Ward On UofL Defense

At Louisville you can’t be vanilla on defense. If you are going to be vanilla you better be extremely disciplined. They aren’t the vanilla and running around lost.

The reality is the line transfers aren’t from major conferences. It shows. Big bodies but not disrupters. In college if you can’t get the QB off his 1st read have fun. This is the 2nd QB saying they know what they are getting. It manageable in the Big Ten West because they were all run heavy offenses. We have 2 years of data good offenses crave up this defense.
Thor had an excellent game if PFF scores are to be believed.

The only problem with your assumption is last year wasn’t a 12 team playoff so they couldn’t care less how teams after #4 in the rankings played out. If it had been a 12 team playoff last year I’m willing to bet the rankings you show would be different. It’s easy to see how they are manipulating them this year to keep the 2 conferences that want representing the playoffs this year.

Today when you tackle “perfectly” there are any number of penalties that can be used against you. Oh my! The top of his helmet hit his chin!! 🙈🙉🙊 Kick his ass out.
I think you only need to watch great defenses to figure out how they get along tackling in the new era. You sure as hell can't be worried about getting your head into the waist area. As far as that helmet, yeah a bit of an art, keeping your helmet crown upward.

I do know that because the CFP rankings from Dec 3, 2023 are online for anyone to see. Liberty would have gotten in as seed 12, and the teams I mentioned were non-champions who were ranked 7-11.

You don’t know that. You have to factor in what I stated above, which obviously is above your comprehension. I’ll break it down and simplify for you. 4 teams automatically in the playoffs, that leaves 8 open spots. 1 team, the highest ranked P4 team automatically in the playoffs, that leaves 7 open spots. ND in the playoffs, because we know they will put them in it if all possible, that leaves 6 open spots….6!

You named 4 two loss teams you said would have gotten in last year’s playoffs with only 6 slots available. I’m calling bs on that assumption.

I know Pushup can speak for himself, but quit being so condesending against everyone that doesn't share your opinions. We're are all supposed to be U of L fans.
How hard is it to understand? 4 + 1 + ND.

That leaves 6 teams to make 12.

So he’s saying they are just going to grab 2 loss teams from the SEC to fill out those 6?

I agree the SEC will mostly get 4 or 5 teams in because of ESPN’s love for them, who by the way, make all the decisions on College Football today. But, there are some conference championship game runner up teams who might have something to say about that who only have 1 loss.
