Brohm's comments on Lacy:

Brooks is that dude at the WR position. To me he is a throwback, except he is not as cocky as Keshawn or TO but he has the ability to make spectacular catches and plays after the catch.
He reminds me of DeVante Parker, but he may be better! They’ve got the same type build lean about 6’3. They both also catch it at the high point of the pass, catch it with their hands, and both are big time play makers

First game v. Ucla

I hope people do not overreact to this first game. Ucla is highly ranked and they are huge! My hopes are shooting and speed can dictate this game for UofL. If it grinds down to a half-court game I think it may be hard to keep them out of the paint and off the boards.
I simply look forward to seeing if there's lots of effort. Cohesiveness and teamwork.

Something going terribly wrong in Lexington

Those days are over with regards to the pigskin. Yet to be proven on the field,we have a coach now who like many on this board, grew up battling for the Cards with uk fans in our city. He only has to make his players feel what he does. It’s coming and hopefully soon.
The 2016 game is forever burned in my mind I almost quit watching UofL football after that debacle! If we beat them this year I will be more then happy to eat crow!

Night and day

The difference in this team than the last two is night and day. It's unbelievable just how much smarter basketball players these guys are over the last two seasons.

They may not win 25 games or anything like that, but they know where to be, where to go on a basketball court. They all seem to know their strengths and play accordingly instead of what we saw the past two seasons where guys were trying to do things they were not all that good at doing.

They're also much better shooters and finishers around the basket. The only thing they're not better at so far is free throw shooting.

Defense was a lot better this week - forced 28 turnovers, but we were sloppy ourselves with 16 TO’s. I think on offense we are much better at passing than driving, based on the large increase in turnovers against Spalding over Young Harris. Koren Johnson and Chucky Hepburn are the two exceptions to that observation - they are excellent at driving.

Hepburn needs to shoot it more often when he drives - teams are already laying back and playing the passing lanes and daring him to take that open layup, runner or short jumper.

Clarkson?

So in one thread you state no more retorts about QB controversy, but in the very next post, you state you're surprised that he hasn't transferred? You're trying to start controversy when there isn't any. Slough is our best option, plain and simple. Enjoy the players who are playing, not the ones who aren't. Just trust Brohm if it becomes a next man up situation that he makes the right decision, whoever that is.
I'm not trying to start anything but a discussion on the ability of Clarkson. I said from the beginning I was surprised and disappointed. Isnt every Cards fan?

I was prepared to see feedback about his possibility of helping the team, not a QB controversy. I said multiple times Shough is the man and has been terrific. I just wondered if a RPO option on goal line or short yardage situations could be helpful with Clarkson.

After several responses I agreed with someone who suggested he will likely transfer, but in no way is that something I would be glad to see. My issue with some of the responses was this notion I was calling for Clarkson to play over Shough or that it was disappointing that he wasn't. That was not the point of my post. The only retorts I had issue with was people saying this.

This is a message board and its purpose is for people to discuss the teams, players and coaches. There was no attempt to start a controversy. Simple reading comprehension proves that I was wondering why Clarkson seemingly isn't good enough to run a "wildcard" formation or a zone read when all we need is one lousy yard.

Something you have to agree has been a problem this season.

Something going terribly wrong in Lexington

Stoops is smarter than his fan base. He knows as long as he wins the Louisville game he is safe. They have always played better in that game. Their talent level is better than Louisville at least the last 5 years plus he is a good motivator.

I think he built the program correctly by focusing on defense instead of offense. With that said a Top 20ish defense paired with an offense ranked in the 100’s is going to lose in the SEC.

Same applies to Louisville you can’t win consistently with a Top 20-30 offense paired with a defense in the 70-80’s. Not in a conference where talent is even distributed. When you have both units in the Top 40 on both sides you can be really good.
