Time to ask Mac about Williams

Hard to tell. I don’t get being vague when you have the opportunity to tell everyone what you are up against. Go ahead and say elite pitchers are getting X. Pitchers in the ACC average NIL deal is X. We can’t touch that. Fans would be OK with knowing and maybe they would want to help. Look fans get it you need players to compete at a high level. To me he is just complaining because he is making a general statement.

The roster size is problematic in a non revenue sport. You need 13-18 arms especially if you aren’t getting the upper end guys. You may need all 18 at some point. They definitely went the developmental route and it hasn’t worked. Their approach supports his claim but without data it does leave fans to question are they really pushing the right buttons or are they still in the world of I don’t like playing players.

The best way to determine if indeed CDM is correct when pointing to the lack of NIL financial support explains the poor pitching performance since Covid era, is by posting the respective NIL funds for the other ACC school baseball programs. That comparison would be interesting to see and could help identify the source of this problem.

I clearly do not have possession of those numbers, but if someone has that data and can post them; it could answer the question very quickly. My suspicion is that UL’s NIL for baseball will be equal to the vast majority of ACC teams, but likely we below that of FSU and Clemson.

An 88 mph fastball in college is in the bleachers. Particularly on a 3-1, 2-1 count. It's a horrible combination of getting behind, no control and then HAVING to throw one over the plate because you walked a batter then beaned the next. It's just an all around really bad roster. Started 25-7 (only 5 away non tournament games wtf? ) and finished 10-14. Don't know what happened starting at game 33 but it's not been pretty. I don't see a rusty Cards team coming off a week and a half vacation making a splash in the ncaa trny unless we score 15 runs a game.

At about game 33, Started to play quality teams on the road without Detmers or Klein. Forbes also caught the “unable to throw strikes” bug about that time.

Tongue in cheek comment as I watched Mowrey look like a 15 year old catcher trying to keep up with 18 year old pitchers. It wasn't a serious comment, but I mean really...cmon with this guy.
I don't think Mowrey was going to play at all this season but injuries to Klein, Tagger and inefficiencies of Baker made it necessary. Kind of weird that Mowrey was the guy who got the start against Pitt.
