UofL @ PITT 630

Looks like rain tomorrow. 70 percent chance. We haven't seen this team in bad weather yet to know what to expect.

A lot of low scoring games tomorrow as this front moves through the Midwest to the east. Those over/under bets on the Sportsbooks will be popular.

I worry about the weather effecting the play. I listened to talking heads today talking about the 3 undefeated teams in the ACC. They said it is important for the 3 teams to win with style points I hope we do so.

Now c’mon boys and girls, we know how this is gonna work so let’s go ahead and put a big old L down for us. Clearly, every single national and local pundit has already expressed that we got the big head, Brohm always loses after a big win and Pitt has been sandbagging all year setting up an ambush in today’s game. They even kept their 6 star QB under wraps until today. This is gonna be such a butt kicking that even the CW will cut away during the second quarter to show a rerun of The Gilmore Girls. I’m picking Pitt 72-2 (we get a safety at the end of the game when Pitt takes a knee in their end zone to run out the clock).
But, I am interested in seeing that Gilmore Girls episode again! !

I hope UL equipment staff bring many types of shoes Heinz field and possible wet field will make traction an issue.

Narduzzi is a defensive coach so I expect their defense to be prepared well , but OL has been good this year so make holes for Jawher.

Believe we win and hold their offense to less than 200 yds.

Pitts gotta win or chances for bowl game has pretty much evaporated. Undefeated team coming to town will have them pumped. Going to be wet and rainy so running game will be important. I like our running game alot better than Pitts even if Jordan doesn't play. Guerendo and Turner will have solid games and I see our D stuffing them on the ground. I think Cards take the air out of their sails with some long sustained drives early. Cards by 17. Will be more if weather isn't to bad for more passing.

Where has it been said that Jordan may not play? It's Thrash who's doubtful.

Your right! When you get old and try to do more than one thing at a time weird stuff happens. That being said I'm even more confident with the ground game being dominant and the +17 prediction

Playing the old card are we? Attention to detail knows no age limit. I like your +17 optimism though. On that we can agree.

Go Cards!

If a maker's and coke is in one hand, my phone is on the kitchen counter and using the spoon I'm stirring chili with to type on said phone, then yes, I over extended myself 😉

Here’s the short and simple

We should win. We are better. But we could lose. Play sharp and we win easy. Come out flat and Narduzzi’s defense will give us trouble.

Cards 20
Pitt 9

Originally recruited to Penn State. 21 year old 3rd year sophomore, 6-4, 220. At this level, everyone has talent - it’s just a matter of whether they are ready to play up to their potential.

And that summarizes what’s always scary about playing a great program like Pitt - they may be struggling, but they have talent on the same level, they’ve got a proven championship winning coach, and they have every bit as much depth as we do.

Good post

Pitt is down (2-4) but they do have talent on the team (Rivals) which has been collected over the years.

This year (2024 recruiting) Pitt has 21 players with a Rivals Team Ranking of 32.

This year has been extremely disappointing and I am not sure we will be able to get to a Bowl (6-6) with our remaining schedule.

However, I am optimistic that we may have found a starting QB that can further develop into a good QB this year and return for the next 2 years.

The kid had all the pressure on his back, starting his first game against the #14 ranked team in the country.

I also realize that you cannot read too much into one game but his first trial by fire was a success.

As one of the other posters pointed out, Pitt's problems have been their lack of offense which finally resulted in the QB change.

Louisville has a good team and I saw how Louisville was able to handle ND who just beat USC yesterday.

Good luck the rest of the year.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

As our fan base is learning, the Power 5 ceiling is harder to break through.

Every team and fan base outside of the elite pretty much has bad losses every year. The only years I can say we didn’t have a terrible loss were 2006 and 2013. And in those years we weren’t in a good league either, so our really good teams could just run past them.

Our fan base saw us rise quickly and just assumed it was easy. Some of our fans assume that the right coach and an uptick in talent means we’re headed for national relevance and such, but we ignore that programs like Pitt are talented too and invest well in their programs too.

So many just assume it’s easy and lump too high expectations on a guy Jeff Brohm, even when he’s doing amazing and had an all time program altering win a week ago. But it’s not easy. Our 2014 team probably had our most talent ever, but even that team only went like 9-4. Which was a very great year considering how tough our ACC division was that season and the injuries we dealt with.

We’re in great shape. I always tell people to be cautious, but also be excited for where we are. I think Jeff is the right guy and Satt had a ceiling, but many don’t even realize how 2018 could’ve been catastrophic and the fact we were right back to being a competitive ACC program immediately was awesome.

Moving to the ACC means it’s harder. Cincy and UCF showed what we would’ve been had we stayed behind in the AAC. They got national rankings and all that, but we knew they were a bit inflated. We’re fighting with the Power 5 teams now. We’re where we belong. Let’s keep it moving!
