With one five star commitment already on board, Rick Pitino and his staff are looking to add more talent to their 2016 recruiting class.
A handful of names have been mentioned, but at this point it’s tough to determine who the top target is for the Lousiville staff.
One prospect who has to be towards the top of the list is five star point guard Dennis Smith. The Fayetteville, N.C., guard is a superb athlete and and shoots it well from outside. Smith is ranked as the No. 4 overall recruit on ESPN, and the top point guard.
On Friday morning Smith trimmed his list to six, with Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals making the cut. He’s also considering Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, NC State and Wake Forest.Smith plays on the adidas circuit for Team Loaded NC, which could end up helping Louisville when it’s all said and done. N.C. State is also an adidas school and have been recruiting Smith for years. I doubt we’ll see him make a decision anytime soon, but he’s definitely someone to keep an eye on.
