One thing I've been wondering is why haven't Payne and staff set up any recruiting visits since last month when they landed Skyy, Flowers, and Evans?

They are contacting plenty of portal guys but we haven't heard of one visit being set up or happening recently. Is the staff keeping things super secret? Are they trying to set up visits and getting turned down? Or is it something else entirely?

You have to wonder if they are willing to pay market rate. Ellis going to Arkansas is really interesting. I guess he got an offer he couldn’t refuse.

All these other schools are setting up multiple visits with portal recruits while it appears UofL has nothing set up.

I've said my stance on here that I'm concerned this will end up similar to last off season. But I have no problem saying I'm wrong if Payne finishes this class up strong by adding one or two experienced guards and a good big man.

Do you think it could be that Pain and staff are resting on their laurels from the commitments they’ve had already?

After last season, I sure hope not. I'm not saying the staff is lounging around and twiddling their thumbs, but that "super secret" style of Paynes can be tiring. They need to shore up this class and lock it up and the sooner the better.

With the arrogance this staff showed last year this is exactly what I'm afraid of.. I think they are oblivious and have zero senses of urgency.

I'm more than happy to be wrong about the coaching staff if they can put something together but I must say I'll be more than a little surprised if it happens.

I do recall that the sanctions we received included a reduction in the number of recruiting days our staff could take in this school year (July 2022 to June 2023). I recently read through the IARP report, and that specifically said that the number of recruiting days would be reduced by seven. I would expect that does impact us somewhat, though I don’t know enough about how many recruiting days we get normally and how those days are used to know for sure.

Louisville basketball signee Trentyn Flowers’ teammate Silas Demary Jr. requests release from NLI with USC
by Cameron Franck3m ago
As of this morning, another Division I signed has requested a release from his National Letter of Intent with a program. This time it is USC signee Silas Demary Jr., who is rated as a four-star prospect in the Class of 2023. Another interesting note is that he was the high school teammate of Louisville signee Trentyn Flowers.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound combo guard is a consensus four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the state of North Carolina, per 247Sports. 247Sports has Trentyn Flowers ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in North Carolina, at the time of this article.

They had momentum a month ago. Added some really solid prospects. Going to be real interesting to see who the final 3 adds are going to be.

I really wonder if they will add 3 more. They may settle for 1 more. It is a really fluid time in college sports. Hell Louisville football landed 2 guys the transferred in the fall left in spring never played a down at the other school.

I'm starting to have doubts they will fill the last 3 spots as well. I think they'll fill one, maybe two.

Far from a sure thing, but I do feel a bit better knowing Mgbako is coming to UofL for a visit.
