I expect Nwora,Perry and Enoch(has graduated) to not be on the roster. Don't know about these two King knows he is not a NBA player so he could just go the overseas route. Ryan is i think is able to be a graduate transfer isn't he?

With a lot of freshman and only possibly Sutton and Williams(i hope) . The early season is going to be a bit shaky . Going to have to hope graduate transfers of good quality don't shun us llike they did this year.

I think you’re wrong and I believe most of the guys you project to leave will be back.

Ryan and Sutton could both be grad transfers. King too, but only if he’s on pace to graduate this summer.

I agree about Enoch and Nwora. Enoch is physically ready to play at the next level and will probably be a 2nd round pick and end up in the G League to develop his game further next year while earning a paycheck. Nwora has a decent chance to be a first round pick, so I expect him to go as well.

I don’t see Perry going somewhere and sitting for a year. I think he stays at least until he graduates after his junior season.

Right now, I will take the conservative line and say that we return Sutton, McMahon, King as seniors, Williams and Perry as juniors, to go with our 6 man freshman class.

In that case I could see us adding one more center prospect (Jason Jitoboh?) and maybe another grad transfer guard.

If Nwora is a first rounder I’ll eat my hat. No way. He is not currently an NBA player. There are too many holes in his game. Those who think he is right now are borderline insane.

I can’t see Enoch or Nwora going to NBA yet. Enoch is not good defensively. Nwora is a great shooter but could make a PJ Washington-like leap in draft status if he improves his ball handling and works on lateral quickness. I truly think Nwora could benefit big time from another year under Coach Mack.

Nwora is more than likely gone. He's in the 1st round more than likely.

We also have to keep in mind the question isn't are they ready many that turn pro aren't ready. The question is how old are they, do they view this draft as being weak, are they just ready to get paid, and, do they "think" they are ready, or even care if they know they aren't ready but want to leave anyway.

King will be back. Perry will transfer. Nwora will test the NBA waters, but will return. Enoch, I'm not sure.

Nwara is even in the second round on any Draft boards I have seen much less a first rounder.

Curious as to why some feel Perry is a transfer. Is this inside info or a gut opinion based on incoming players?

He was also one of the few "kind of" bright spots in the brief post season. I get it, he's not a favorite around here, and he was frustrating this season for sure, a disappointment would be fair.

But, if Mack just hated him, that minutes played bump wouldn't have happened late in the year.

It's never about who is ready to jump to the NBA. It's always who has potential to become a great player, and the NBA GM's are more than happy to throw a few million at a kid whom they feel could be the next great thing. They always chase the shiny object.

So the players who have 'potential' are Nwora and Enoch. Nwora is a shooter and they love shooters in the NBA, and Enoch has a professional body who could blossom into a force inside.

Everyone else who can come back probably will sans VJ King who might decide to transfer.

Who knows, they seem to trust Mack.

Nwora big upside in coming back, but only if he buys in defensively.
Enoch not much of an upside in coming back for him, I am not sure what improvements he could make to improve is stock.
Sutton he will get better no reason to leave.
McMahon who knows he may want to be a starter at a smaller school.
Perry I think he will be back, but wouldn't shock me if he left.

He struggled most of the season. Not sure if it was a confidence thing or if he didn't find his place in Mack's system. There's also the issue of him not being a natural point guard. And, if Mack brings in another grad transfer at the point position, that tells Perry all he needs to know. He gave a fairly vague answer about his return next season after the game yesterday, too.

I like his game. He's athletic. I hope he stays.

Enoch will leave only if he’s done playing for free and is doesn’t mind learning a foreign language. He’s not in the top 75 of any mock draft. Nwora needs another year but is projected into the first round now and is likely gone. Perry needs to figure out if he’s trying to be a 1 or a 2 - because right now - he’s neither. Whatever the decision, he needs to live in the gym and watch a thousand hours of tape on guys who actually understand how to play basketball - or move on. He brought almost nothing to the table this year and his decision making hurt the team a bunch. Hope King transfers to a mid-major and gets back to enjoying basketball. If McMahon wants to play D1 - he needs to stay put. Sutton’s not going anywhere - he’ll be a captain and will be leaned on heavily to mentor the freshmen.

LOL. There's only 60 spots. I agree he isn't ready, but he doesn't have to be ready. He only has to be in the 'potential' arena. Nwora is more desirable right now by the NBA GM's but only because he can shoot. He's not ready either but has a ton of that dreaded potential.

I always wonder is the kids/parents goal to play in the NBA or stay in the NBA. Williams,Mitchell and Rosier decisions to leave really worked out because they were drafted in the middle of 1st round. The teams were invested in them. Harrell decision was good because his stock wasn't getting any higher with another year. Then you have Spalding, Deng, and Onuaku all jumped to soon. They all could have improved their stock with another year. Teams didn't invest they speculated on all of them. Spalding is a mid 1st rounder in this year's draft.

I agree they draft on potential but they don't over pay for players that only shoot. They over pay for kids that have the potential and have shown the ability to play against elite talent. They over paid for Monk from UK because he showed the ability to score at a high level. The won't over pay for a stand still shooter with a quick trigger like Nwora. They will get him on the cheap. That is where coming back makes the most sense. He could be a early or mid 1st rounder if he really improved defensively and his offensive game expanded.

Enoch body is NBA but his game is for overseas. That is what his decision will come down to college or play overseas. Coming back in his case I am just not sure his ceiling is that much higher. No reason to waste a year if you can't really improve your position with NBA. Go get your money now especially since he graduated unless scouts tell him he could be 1st round if he returned and improved his game.

They also like to try to prove doubters wrong. They figure, they have been doing that most their lives to reach the level they are at.

Then NBAdraft.net is borderline insane. They have him being picked 25th by the Pacers.

I've heard the hosts (not the callers) on Louisville sports talk mentioned Perry transfer as something they've been "hearing about these last few weeks." Take it FWIW.
He has been in the transfer portal ie all season looking for possible spots . What you hear is true!

He's 25th on this one.

https://www.nbadraft.net/2019mock_draft

I've been looking for more mocks which ones do you use?
That's the only one listing him that high . ESPN doesn't even have him in the top 100.Here is the most positive one I could find:
, Nwora has shown he can be an effective scorer off the bench at the next level. If he were to declare for the 2019 draft, he would likely end up as a mid-late second round pick, but could possibly go undrafted. I personally think Nwora would benefit from returning to Louisville for another year. If he can get stronger and improve as a playmaker while continuing to fill it up during his junior season, he could end up being a first rounder in 2020

The only one I see who might leave would be King because next year the competition gets a lot tougher. I don't know where you all are thinking all these other guys are going it is hilarious. NOBODY on this team has a shot at the NBA by the way they performed this year. Why would McMahon and Sutton transfer out, next year could be something really special.
We would have a good starting lineup and good bench play to back them up. We overachieved this year and that success had us expecting more than we should. You can't blame Mack for the hand he was dealt.

Guys across the country turn pro when it's obvious they aren't really ready. UofL hasn't been immune to it. Did anybody think Jaylen Johnson was getting drafted when he declared early?

One prediction I'll make is that this team won't have anywhere near the quality depth next year that people think. That's unless Mack adds a couple of grad transfers like Cunningham who contribute...

I expect to see King come back. He,unlike some others, has given an effort to become the type of player Mack wants on the court. His lack of confidence was glaring on his shot, but his toughness moved up exponentially thru the season. I think Coach is happy with how far he's come in other areas of his game and he's said as much.

I have no idea about some of the others except Nwora. I think he's gone.

All a guy like Nwora has to hear is that the NBA will give him a look. And the guy played like he had already made his decision...

What they don't need are guys to come back for the wrong mentality, to get theirs. That just leads to inconsistent performances and potentially off the rails kind of problems. Nwora seems semi competitive, he can take losing or winning, but it really is not what drives him. Getting to the NBA seems to be what drives him. His play tells you he thinks his route to the NBA is shooting or his offensive game. He doesn't play the game with any toughness and intensity.

A NBA team promises to take him in the 1st or 2nd he should sprint to the NBA because if he returns and shows the same lack of defensive intensity and physicality he may not get drafted in 2020. On the flip side if he came back with the his focus on defense and being more physical then he could be a mid 1st round pick in 2020. He is athletic enough and long enough to be a really good defender. Louisville gets that Nwora back then they would be a problem.

Right now he would get abuse in the NBA defensively,

He more than likely would spend his time in the G league like many others.

We know his warts but he's still a prospect and there will be some with much less of a chance declare.

Again, remember Jaylen Johnson?

We will find out soon.

Guess it depends on your definition of quality. We got a bunch of 4 stars coming in and a 5 star. Is that quality depth? Yet to be determined IMO because we don't know who is coming back just yet to go with those 6 guys coming in. We lose 3 for sure (4 counting Will Rainey). Add 6. That tells me the bench is going to be deeper UNLESS 2 or more leave.

I can't believe people on here are talking about Nwora as if he is good enough for the NBA right now. That is a joke he could go to Europe and play but not the NBA. He has too much ground to cover before he can even think about it.
We've had players who were bigger stronger and better all around and they struggled to make it in the NBA. If that is Nwora's dream than he better come back and bust his butt and prove he has what it takes to play in the NBA.

He can look at the NBA and believe he is the next Donovan Mitchell. Others, such as Hopgood and I, remember Jaylen and Onuaku and see where they are now.

I agree that he played against Minnesota like the decision was already made. We will see what we will see.
