This hurts, but honestly, why care?

Who gives a damn about a stitched banner and wins in a historians book? The bottom line is we won the 2013 Championship. We all got to enjoy it, whether we were able to attend in person, enjoy the ride from our local sports bar, or just enjoy it from the confines of our own home. It was amazing and I loved every second. I will never forget the ride. Ever.

Our players got HUGE rings (ask Kevin W). They got the experiences. Nothing will take that from them. They are fine.

The players that got screwed were the players the 15-16 team, specifically Lewis and Lee, because we banned ourselves from postseason play, which was obviously a stupid move, hindsight is 20/20.

We are yet again a ticket at the bottom of ESPN. The butt of many jokes for the next few months. Who cares? Nothing we all aren't already used too. We will bring in a coach (Mack) in a month or a little more, and within a few years this will all be a distant memory and we will be in 1 seed line discussions.

In the words of the Aaron. Relax.

Yep won’t be taking down anything in my UofL room and I’ll still wear my NC shirt.

I actually agree with you guys. You can’t take away what happened. The only thing that really bugs me about it, is some of the hypocrites here when the shoe was on the other foot. I remember a couple saying how Cal shouldn’t be celebrating his 500th win, and how a couple of UK’s trophies didn’t count etc etc. but outside of those fans I’m with ya, this is all about experience, at least for the fans. And that’s not going anywhere

"Not taking away what happened" has nothing to do with a tendency to look back on your accomplishments. If you don't have that tendency, there's nothing to "take away". That's more the way I roll (except in the rare instance someone issues a manhood challenge...)

One reason some of your "hypocrites" probably acted the way they did had more to do with slapd!cks. The stereotype which is more true than not is that every member of your fanbase has an eight-titles-and-counting tshirt. That's living life with one eye in your rear view mirror. If that's you, a banner matters a lot...

Ughhh??? I meant NOT TAKING AWAY WHAT HAPPENED meaning your championship??? I honestly can’t tell what you are meaning. Because yea?!! A banner does mean a lot. That’s why I said “I agree with you”. There is no stereotype. We have 8 banners and you have one hanging in the Yum! Or we don’t and yours doesn’t exist either. I’m about half way asleep so I really can’t tell if you took me the wrong way or if you’re just agreeing with everything I said with different terminology. Either way the other half of my sleep is kicking in so good luck to your kids..

Surely you recognize the classical LPT d!ck length contest.

Appears you're the only guy not understanding. "My kids" are fine, thanks.

It matters because it means something...it means that in that particular moment in time...you had a group of young men come together as a team and stepped up to grab the "brass ring". As fans, we were there with them...cheering our hearts out from them to win the big prize...and they did. Guys like Luke, Peyton, Russ and Kevin. It matters...because of Legends like Denny, Darrell, Previs and Wes. It matters because the city of Louisville and the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. It matters.

What is so frustrating for the UofL faithful, is that we as a fan base trusted UofL to follow the rules, protect the school and be transparent. They did not. We put our faith in a system that is supposed to govern the member schools with fairness and accountability. The NCAA DID NOT.

It is clear to me and hopefully this fan base is that there are two issues at play here. One...for whatever reason, UofL has been forever marked by these scandals. That forces inside and outside UofL, the NCAA and others have decided that. Louisville is not deemed a "Blueblood" program like UNC, DUKE or UK, so because of that...UofL will be punished.

The fact that will has a HOF Coach of knew about the strippers or not...whether he cared about it or not or he was paying attention or not is water under the bridge. The NCAA and its out touch rules and attitudes made sure they were going to nail Louisville because they decided it was about sex They said this was a first for this and that gave them the right to give any punishment deemed necessary. Forgetting that the Duke LaCrosse case could be possibly relavent. As well as half the college campuses claim there is an underlying "rape" culture. I could go on and on.

The second point is the NCAA and their inconsistencies. The are antiquated and out of touch. They are undermanned and have an agenda that is hurting College Sports. They need to be disbanded and rebuilt from ground up. Taking UofL 2013 Banner is not helping or correcting the situation. It shows that not only that UofL failed in its job...but so did they. Mich State is a prime example...they knew..,and did not. If they are the keeper of the rules, then enforce the rules. When UK had their scandal, everyone knows that they should gotten the death penalty for their program. Sure, they got penalized, but not like they should of because they are UK. That is when the NCAA lost its power and respect. It matters because UofL didn't use strippers to play their games or gain a recruiting advantage. They won. Postel, Frisson and Tyra need to step up and fight. They lost the first two rounds, but the fight isn't over. UofL needs to sue the crap out of the NCAA to retain that banner...what the cost. Because it matters.

The NCAA sucks period. If you're not going to punish all; then don't punish the few who self reported and punished themselves.

I watched Kevin Ware break his leg against Duke in that tournament, the come back against Wichita State and Luke Hancock’s 3’s against Michigan. Screw the ‘No Clue Athletics Association’. Louisville won the 2013 National Championship and I will wear my got championships T-shirt loud and proud. They have the nerve to continue to sell our championship merchandise on their web site...d@mn shame!

That’s not right. Even though Mango paid some restitution, the NCAA vacated all the games for that season as well meaning we still had ineligible players. Hard to believe but if didn’t ban ourselves, we would probably be looking at a postseason ban for next year.

So, we won't be in the post season next year anyway.

I care. Having a national championship taken away is a big deal and I am not going to be delusional and pretend it doesn't matter. All of the corruption in college basketball over the decades and yet we are the only ones to have a title removed? Don't tell me we have not been singled out. As I have said, we have been resented by the old boys network including the people who control the NCAA for our success since Denny Crum. We have never had a favorable ruling from the NCAA and they have been waiting to do this to us for a long time.

Still got those fat-ass rings!

Except for the $600k repayment (this is NOT small news - the $15MM amount was being floated out there and that would have been a HUGE hit to the program's future), it's all in the past. Move forward.

Duke has the one with Corey Maghette who the NCAA might still have an open case. He took cask from an agent in HS. It’s Duke so nothing happens.
Don’t forget Lance Thomas $130,000 in jewelry bought in December of a championship winning year- you think he is the only one who was getting benefits?
NCAA does nothing, waits till Thomas has left for the NBA and so the NCAA says “despite receipts etc, we can’t make him talk now, he is in the NBA out of our jurisdiction”. Special K rules. Like special UNC rules and years ago UCLA rules
We’re just dumb hillbillies, not the coastal elites such as them who make and selectively enforce the rules.
2013 Champs was and is Louisville Cardinals. I watched the game. Screw the NCAA

But at least we have a chance to compete. Don’t sell our freshmen and sophomores short.

I guess I'm in the minority that we could be really good next year depending on who Mack gets as late signees. There are always a couple 4* prospects who choose to wait it out. One could be Ramey and there will be some solid grad transfers. As long as Mack or whoever the next coach is can keep the players we have now that should return, we might be top 25. Better than this year at least. Coaching matters fellas.

I’m thinking you’re on the wrong message board..

It's not something Louisville is accustomed too, but we were about to be (Langford, Simons, etc.)

I'm telling you that I believe 100% that Mack will get 5* talent to UofL.

And as I noted at the end, coaching matters.
