in the NCAAT? I mean how far would the Cards have to advance for you to be happy/relatively happy with the season?

Seeding wise I hope for a 4 but will be satisfied with a 5

2 wins/ sweet sixteen appearance and I'll be satisfied. Anything less is a disappointment.

Of course I want more but I'll start with that

Eilte Eight playing for FF. My expectation hasn't wavered. UK and UConn unranked last year. Dream big! They did!

I'm not sure if it's realistic or not, but I hope for the 4 or 5 seed in UK's bracket. That would give the Cards a chance to end UK's season in the sweet sixteen IF the Cards could get there. That would mean a trip out to Portland if it happens because UK will be playing in Louisville for their first 2 games.

We're due to beat them. Why not be the team to knock them from perfection?

I would love for the Cards to knock out UK. They blocked us from possibly 2 but definitely 1 title in the last few years (2012 and 2014). Payback would be sweet. The matchups are what I'm interested in the most. You can get a higher seed and still get screwed with the matchups.

Elite 8 Sunday matchup after taking down a 1 seed in the S16! We will have the game plans to get there. Execute and shoot it like we belong and we will!

Realistically? I believe the Sweet 16 is raising the bar a bit, but that's where I expect us to be. Anything after might be overachieving. We just don't have any consistent shooters this year. I hope that We get lucky and slide to the final 4. I just don't see it happening though. Hope I'm wrong.

If we can get to the Sweet 16, and I think we can, history says Pitino gets us to the elite 8. I believe he is 10-1 in Sweet 16 games. I like the odds. It's all about the match-ups from here on in. So Sweet 16 is the cake for me with the opportunity for a Great 8 shot being the icing on the Sweet 16 cake.

Go Cards!

I think Sweet Sixteen is a good (and realistic) target and matches expectations.
I would not be shocked if they lost in the Round of 32; would not be shocked if they make it to Elite 8.

This team has been frustrating all year. Talented but inconsistent. RP is a great coach, and will get the most out of these kids. A lot will depend on match ups. But in March Madness, anything can happen.

Regardless of seating, I hope UL/UK are not in the same bracket again.

Dream big for sure but last year was anomaly.

I am hoping for a sweet 16 appearance. Anything beyond that would be great.

I agree with this. If the Cards lose either the first or second game- well especially the first- I'd be very disappointed. I know this team has inconsistencies and weaknesses but I'm hoping for at least a Sweet 16 appearance. Advancing after that would make me really happy with this team.

If we get to Sweet 16 and lose to UK then it will be a huge disappointment. I can't stand UK and I'm sick of losing to them, especially in the tourney.

Just out of curiosity, why would being the 4 in the MW (hypothetically) mean UL goes to Portland?

That's where Lundardi had the Cards guessed to go. It doesn't matter now regardless. UK is in the Midwest, and the Cards are in the East bracket with rounds 2 and 3 in Seattle. The only chance those two teams meet this year is in the final 4. UK should get there with few problems. I mean the 2 seed they got is a team they've already beat by 32 points. UofL on the other hand got what I think is a fairly tough draw with a possible 3rd round match up against a Northern Iowa team that is little known but legit and that's assuming the Cards can get past one of the tallest teams in the country in UC Irvine with how poorly the Cardinals bigs have played all season long.

It's win or go home time now. No excuses. Win and advance. Lose and wait until next year, and that's true for everyone.

I like our draw.

I'll be happy with 2 wins and a Sweet 16.

Another win would be fantasy and a FF unbelievable.

Season-long, we waited for the 5 spot to develop.

We waited for the bench to develop.

Neither of those things happened and we know what happened to our starting PG.

I love Trez and he was a possible lottery pick and the end of 2014. Now he was a 2nd team all-conference player?

With all that's happened, Sweet 16 and I'll be happy.

And even if it isn't that far, I'll still be happy.

Cancer sucks.

Losing at basketball isn't fun, but it doesn't suck like that.

Yep. Every fiber of my being wishes cancer would catch cancer and lose the battle with cancer so we could be rid of that horrid disease once and for all. I've lost way too many family members and friends to that horrible disease in my lifetime. Maybe 1 day we'll be rid of it forever. I take it by those words you are a cancer survivor Rod. God bless and I am glad you're doing better.

Back on topic. Bottom line regarding this tourney is the first team to 6 wins (7 if you're in a play in game) wins the tourney. You don't get extra points for style. It doesn't have to be pretty. You just have to win and advance to the next game. You can advance up to 5 (6) times. Win 6 (or 7) and you win the tournament.

It is MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a year where happiness will be achieved. I'm never happy with less than a Final 4. This year that is not happening. I think realistic is winning one or two games before exiting. We just don't have a leader and the NCAAT is when that is really exposed.

This team's pattern has been to beat teams they should and lose to teams they should. I see no reason to expect more. My expectations are going to be the same for the NCAAT, losing to a higher seed.
