I have a coworker that kept me updated last summer on their "yahtzee's", he shut up by signing day when thr UK class fell apart. This summer he's back at it again smdh....they never learn

Gosier and Provitt, IIRC, were late signings to replace some of the late flips. Turns out there was a reason they were still available late; neither qualified. Nobody is saying why Richardson left. That one is weird, especially considering how highly rated he was in HS (4*, #20 T nationally). I think seeing where he ends up when he transfers will answer a lot of questions. Not sure Gosier and Provitt were immediate contributors but losing Richardson (after losing Krok earlier this summer) certainly hurts O line depth moving forward.

Provitt is the only one that really hurts. He plays a position UK needs bodies at.

Gosier was a risk, but UK is fine at WR. Richardson was a 2014 recruit. Not sure why he's no longer with the team, but he hadn't put on any weight, and was third on the depth chart at his position, having been passed up by a true freshman early enrollee.

...but UK is fine at WR...
Said the guy with the 63rd passing offense in the country last year, the same starting QB, and a new, unproven OC.

That "fine" thing must be an LPT sickness.

LPT Football: Mighty fine...

Looking back at UK fans' favorite page on the Internet, the recruiting star report, Nick Richardson was a 4-star. So if I'm reading all this right (please correct me if I'm wrong), Richardson redshirted, spent a year of a scholarship and is now transferring? Nice.

There's a happy medium here. It's exciting to line up some players rated in a good spot. If you're in the top 5 recruiting rankings and/or consistently in the top 10 in the recruiting rankings it's a staple and can make winning "easier", no doubt.

But people forget a # of the players contributing to recruiting rankings fail to get admitted, or some other reason that prevents them from ever playing a down for the team.

I don't blame any of their fans for celebrating the recruiting because, and I don't mean this in a rude way, but... what else is there to celebrate? But, I think they go too far when they tell us "what's coming" and imply this program over here is in deep water. That's where the line is continually being crossed.

Whatevs!

That's a good point, it's why recruiting rankings are just one small piece of the puzzle. The funny thing is how some UK fans have obsessed so much over the numbers to the point of over-emphasizing them as the end game. As you say, it's probably because they don't have much else to hang their hats on at this point.

It's kind of like in Monopoly, getting the "You win 2nd place in a Beauty Contest, collect $10." It's a factor in winning, but a UK fan would turn over that card and declare "This proves it, I've won!" Meanwhile, I'm quietly building hotels and they now have $20.

Sounds like Richardson decided to transfer when true freshman George Afaso-Adjei jumped him on the depth chart in the spring. GAA is the best lineman UK has signed in a very long time. Young and Jedrick Wills figure to end up at UK and Richardson was going to find himself behind a few younger guys. Richardson didn't do enough to change his body in his RS year it's on him

Didn't see it posted over here and I don't want to wear out my welcome so I won't post the pic but your best WR was pictured doing something that could put him in the same boat with Hatcher

You will never see me celebrate a young man struggling to do the right things.

I don't believe Cue was celebrating that at all. I am thinking he is simply pointing out UK has an additional missing player to the ones in the OP.

It is clear Hatcher and Quick have problems, and I'm really not sure what needs to be done. I doubt either player gets straightened out by brief suspensions, which I believe they have both experienced.

Not that it's a big arguing point, but I'm not 100% sure he's our best receiver either. It's year 3 and he hasn't produced a whole lot, and has been moved to the slot.

But, this thread is about players UK will be without, not about a Louisville player. This is Hatcher's second suspension. Some of the holier than thou posters that have shared their moral views are more than likely furious with Hatcher.

They have been in that boat, TOGETHER, nimrod. However, that photo of Quick has been posted and reposted several times. It is an old photo and was probably taken by Hatcher, who, by the way may actually be in trouble and not just from an old photo. We'll see.

Well with the pic that surfaced of Quick rolling a blunt a couple weeks ago I'd assume he has one coming. Probably dumb to assume that Petrino would discipline his players though
So, Boy Genius... Why would that be dumb to assume?

When Stupes is having recurring problems with the same kid?

Enlighten us.

As usual, brave talk at home.

I will never understand why someone who knows they will be tested, and that if positive they have so much to lose still smokes weed.
All you have to do is NOT smoke weed, it's not that hard. life isn't that stressful to a college student with a free ride with a possible career at stake.

Hatcher and Quick have been best friends since youth football. They have been treated with kids gloves by everyone at every level. If they both disappear, I will not shed a tear. This from a member of the Trinity mafia.

Has the violation been confirmed by a reliable source?

It very well could be something else, and not drug related. What was Hatcher's first suspension for?

As usual Hop is all over it. I was pointing out to the obvious blue troll that things aren't all blue skies and happy sunshine pumping in Lexington for Stoops. He's losing players and he has at least 1 troubled kid on the roster who is struggling to understand his place in the world. I take no joy in seeing any of these kids struggling to get it together regardless who they play for.

Hatcher is no different than hundreds of other players that I have come to think of as useful idiots. Great players but it doesn't appear they'll ever be accused of having too much brain matter between the ears.

Hatcher's first suspension was over him and Quick being cited together for a possession charge at Quick's dorm or apartment. It hasn't come out yet what Hatcher's suspension is over this time. University policy is that the first drug violation results in a suspension of 10% of the season, the second violation requires a suspension of 50% of the season, and the 3rd violation ends in expelment. Because Hatcher's suspension is only two games some believe that it isn't over weed this time but who knows

It's not that hard for YOU, because it's not YOUR culture.

Culture has nothing to do with it. That's a cop out. I used to fire one up occasionally too, but when I joined the Navy I realized I could be drug tested at random and it wasn't worth it.

If you know that if you fail a drug test that it could be your future and you continue to blaze, it's not culture it's just irresponsible.

I don't want either one of them to fail, I don't intend to come across that I do.

I was basically venting because you see young men throw away so much oppurtunity for weed. It's senseless

I wanna know from LPT Boy Genius how Petrino has a hard time with discipline when the LPT coach has the same kid falling out of bed?

This has nothing to with Quick and probably has nothing to do with drugs. It mostly has to do with LPT fantasyland.

My guess is he Hatcher didn't get suspended for failing a drug test when he was busted with Quick.

This time he was suspended for failing a test, which is why the suspension was for 2 games.

What exactly is MY culture?

I can't say for sure.

But I'm positive your culture is not the same as these COLLEGE aged football players that mortify you with their reefer hobby.

You're not their age. Their journey in life as an adult is just beginning. You're not hanging out in dorm rooms and off campus parties living it up as somewhat of a campus celebrity around hot chicks and guys that are either celebrities on the team just like you or just fun guys to party with in general. They are going through a phase in life where family supervision is lifted in many cases for the first time.

College is just one big party for lots of people Bill.

And that is a culture you don't share with these celebrities that make bad decisions fitting in with other guys just like them because you aren't a celebrity in his late teens early 20s.

You're doing your 9 to 5 thing.

That should straighten you out on this.

My lord dude you are a grown adult and these guys are just now out on their own for the first time. Of course you don't see the world today the way they see it today.

And when they become your age most of them will see the world the same way as you see it now.

They are kids. And you aren't.

Lordy.

I get it, but are you excusing behavior that jeopardizes your future because someone doesn't want to follow rules?

That's what it boils down, following rules. No matter whether we think pot should be legal or not, it isn't. And it's against the NCAA and/or schools rules.

I'm not just talking about kids, you see it in the NFL all the time as well.

I was also young and liked to smoke pot, before I was in a position at 18 where I was randomly drug tested and knew I could piss away my future.

I said that because it's my opinion that Petrino lets a lot of things go. I have that opinion because when he left the first time Kragthorpe came in an was vocal about the types of things that were going on in the locker room. There were very few suspensions or public acts of discipline at that time under Petrino. Maybe Petrino runs his players to death but very few guys miss games or are dismissed. I didn't even want to share that opinion here but you kept pressing me on it. It is only my opinion of course that doesn't make me right or wrong

I know that Stoops has had players acting foolish on his watch. Those players have been dealt with with a punishment that fit the crime IMO. Lowery was the one player that Stoops let slide. Maybe he felt that Lowery had already been punished enough by nearly losing his life

Bill -

Adults with all the life experience they could possibly need make bad decisions every day.

I wouldn't say I'm excusing their behavior but I can't say I'm disgusted by it, and certainly not stunned. It's why I don't vent if a player hurts his team with a bad decision because at the end of the day I see them as VERY young adults learning life on the fly.

Your background has taught you to understand the importance of all this but in many instances this is the first time in their entire lives they've been forced to follow any kind of real rules/structure.

I'm not just talking about kids, you see it in the NFL all the time as well.

The NFL player riding off the rails is even more understandable.

A millionaire is going to basically do whatever the F he or she wants off the field.

Like I said in a different response, grown adults armed with all the experience needed make bad life decisions every day.
