Oops! Totally forgot about a review of the WBB game. Blame it on the birthday, late night, day-off work or whatever. Blame it on the bossanova. Or actually seeing the sun for the first time since the Reagan presidency. Anyway, here are:

FIVE THINGS ABOUT THIS GAME

5) An even effort. Louisville didn't really blow the Eagles out in any quarter, but won them all by (in order) 12,6,9 and 9. Everyone saw at least 12 minutes except Jess, everyone scored except Jess and everyone had a rebound -- even Jess! So, the answer is we need more, not less, Jess!

4) Those Eagles are a brawling bunch. 23 fouls, two technicals and a nasty take-down of Asia on the sidelines with a flying tackle. Maybe when you've been giving up 80 points + a night for the last month, you get a little chippy? Brawling is good in lacrosse and field hockey. Not so wise in hoops.

3) Doing Asia-type things. "Nite-nite" with 23 points and 10-13 from the free throw line. Doing it in just 27 minutes. Just watching her over the last four years, it is so obvious she loves this team, this game and never pulls out the "pout" or "argue with the ref" card. She is one for the ages, and, hopefully the best is still yet to come.

2) Kylee the Warrior. She has asked the coaches to push her to help her get better. She had a excellent afternoon yesterday, banging in the paint and ending up with 14 points, two blocks, seven rebounds and, oh, she also went 6-7 from the floor and sank both her three-pointer attempts. We worry a bit about Asia, Arica and Sam graduating -- and rightfully so -- but Kylee showing she can be a leader and counted on in 2019-20.

1) The freshmen play extended minutes and look good. I see/hear a lot of questions and worries about Duvall and Robins. Relax. They will be fine and combined for 4 for 8 shooting, two threes, 12 points and four assists in a combined 26 minutes yesterday. Those aren't bad numbers at all. We won't go much into Duvall's momentary loss of depth perception at the free throw line, someone said that the backboard got moved back a few inches during a timeout late when everyone was watching the Ladybirds. Kasa was out under concussion protocol. Avoiding the bright lights and loud noises.
