Always did what was asked of him, and was never accused of any off-court shenanigans or team-divisive behavior. Always exemplified the highest level of class, and was a Champion in that regard both on and off the court. Excelled in the classroom. Improved each and every year on the court, despite serious injury, significant challenges to keep weight in check, and what must have been extreme challenges in maintaining self-confidence due to constant questioning from the fan base, almost to the extent of verbal harassment. But through that all, Wayne was Wayne, and kept plugging away, until the final second ticked away. Yesterday he was a warrior. Today he is a former player that I can be proud to say was Cardinal.
I look forward to the night in the Yum when he returns as an alum and is announced to the crowd and receives that rousing standing ovation that he deserves. Nice job, Wayne. Your commitment & perseverance to our program will never be forgotten by this fan. #L1C4
