so in women's basketball if Tennessee is paying $100,000 via NIL for their starting 5 and KP doesn;t even want to bring it up, then there's no single way he'll ever land a top recruit. i mean what 18 or 19 year kids says i want to play for you for free isntead of down the road for $250k-$5million. and as a side note i heard that UNc qb should easily get $10 million on open marker, then play a year, get paid, then transfer again and get paid again. if you are a top flight qb you could easily make $25 million in college.

Not even mentioning the exposure these players could get if they come in here and play in most likely the closest thing to an NBA arena in college as you’ll get. The money guaranteed for a commitment plus that added benefit of getting to play somewhere like that is sure to win a lot of kids over. But the money factor has to be a part of the recruitment as well.

I had a friend say this to me yesterday, there has to be so many kids right now that we are recruiting who know they would be able to step in here right now and start right off the bat. But that is a risk no matter what. The only real way we could convince them to come is laying out a huge NIL deal for them to make money for themselves and their family for the time being while they are in college. Me personally, I’m taking the money as a 18-19 year old kid versus a recruiting pitch of a coach who promises NIL money once they commit and who will help make me a pro. That’s not a knock on KP’s recruiting pitch, that’s just how I see the reality of it. And who knows, maybe there will be a couple high level kids who believe in what Kp is saying to them

I do hate to spread dirt on KP’s recruiting pitch with an outsider’s perspective and no knowledge of how each current recruitment is going. But..

The way this year is trending/looking he better figure out how to build a roster next year and have a great 2024 class. The absence of both he may not survive at the end of this year or 2023.

I don’t see anyway to survive in men’s basketball without a great NIL plan.

There is too much money on the line to play like they have.

Did Walz mention what Hailey gets?

@NonameErnie where did you get that list?

Payne might be sandbagging on U of L’s behalf. There’s no reason for me to believe U of L can land serious NIL money for incoming recruits…

I guess Jeff heard wrong since the Lady Vols lost today at home to Va Tech and their record is now 4 - 5 ! 😄 😆😆

Page Bueckers and HVL have a huge twitter following and Twitter pays them .50 for every follower they have. If others are jealous it’s not their fault that they have that many followers. They are both good athletes that have made themselves very marketable.

The success on the football recruiting is not reason enough?
As I understand, that money was mostly the result of the Clarkson kid’s connections involving his Dad. Props to that family for making hay when you can.

No question that U of L BENEFITS from that, but how was that the result of U of L’s efforts? He’s not even on campus yet…
