Louisville has added a highly rated volleyball player who is transferring in from Southern California. Elle Glock is a 6’1” setter originally from Nebraska, she was PrepVollryball.com‘s 39th-ranked recruit nationally, her senior year in high school she led her high school to the Nebraska state championship 3 times. Coach Dani is working hard to keep us in the mix And that is a good thing now that we have tasted success we have the fever.

She was a backup to the other USC setter who also transferred here. And, we have Paige Morningstar on the roster as well. All three, in my opinion. have some work to do to be as good as Dilfer was.

The truth is that almost no one we get as a setter wil be as good as Dilfer. That is a very high bar for anyone to get over.
Isn’t that what was said after Katie? Dilfer was great and as a 5th-yr Grad that type of experience is hard to come by. Thing is…great players come and go. They all can be replaced - to some degree. Will (should we expect) there be a drop off in production from the setter position? Probably. But everyone is replaceable and the squad will adjust. 😀
Isn't it more about how high can they jump and can the setter place the ball in the ideal position for the high jumping hitter to initiate the kill? That is what Dilfer did time after time for the 6'2" incredibly high jumping Anna Stevenson. Dillfer and Stevenson are leaving some very large shoes to fill. Anna DeBeer and Elena Scott are thankfully back. I wonder if Claire Chaussee can return for another year? Also Aiko Jones and Amaya Tilman will return. If Brook Smith 6'2". Nena Mbonu 6', Phekran Kong 6'3", and Cara Cresse 6'6" can develop further that would be a great help. I know nothing about the incoming freshman.
We use to think Katie George was irreplaceable. It’s great to have established a system of excellence.
Sonja, I read elsewhere that the Senior setter from USC is no longer committed and had turned pro. Can you confirm this?
From TOS, Did a little digging and the rumor is that Lazaro is no longer coming and is going pro instead. UofL did announce it when she committed, but now that announcement has been deleted. So it looks like we roll into the season with three freshmen setters and let the best woman win.
Then the other two will probably immediately enter the portal.
