we penetrate kick to him, give him wide open looks and he turns the shot down and drives into defenders. And, we have a damn shooter in Nwora on the bench??? I don’t get DP. I don’t get him at all!
For his job??? Are you serious! He’s got about a week or two, can’t wait for DP’s shit show to be over. I really appreciate him stepping up but damn I think he’s average at best. This is torture.I'm just guessing here... Nwora may not bust it in practice the way Padgett wants. And if true, you can't play that kid regardless because it tells everyone else on the team that practice effort doesn't matter. That would be a disaster.
There's a reason the kid doesn't play. And it's not because Padgett's oblivious to how well one guy plays vs another. Nor is there an agenda. Padgett's coaching for his job...
I thought that too, but not sure I buy it. They wanted Padgett because he is a softy, so I don’t think he would be hard on one guy for not going hard in practice. Other than Perry the young guys have been riding the pine lately.I'm just guessing here... Nwora may not bust it in practice the way Padgett wants. Originally, they chose Pitino because they DIDN'T want a soft coach. IMO as his replacement, they wanted Padgett over any other coach they didn't know. They would have picked Steve Kragthorpe if he was a student trainer...I thought that too, but not sure I buy it. Not if you hire a stud head coach. Big-shot Tyra is gonna get his chance. Only the single biggest hire in the history of our athletic program is laying in his lap. No pressure Vince! You're about to find out what real torture is. Wait until it's all walk-ons playing in 2 or 3 years.

None of us know why the kid isn't playing but I trust the coach to make his best assessment and play to win.
I would just as soon watch Nwora get beat on defense (assuming that is the issue) than watch Adel and King make mistake after mistake and take bad shots. And it is not as though those two are exactly lock down defenders either.
DP and his staff make many b-ball Coaching - 101 mistakes. Example: they knew Duke would play a 2-3 zone yet started the game with Anas in the middle going elbow-to-elbow. You can’t put him there when he is NO THREAT OFFENSIVELY from that spot.So some of you who have not likely coached a pee wee game and haven't seen a minute of practice and probably didn't even ever play the game at a high level think you know more than DP? You think he is sitting a kid that can help him win games and keep his job? He is too stupid or stubborn to do what is best for him and his team? Have you ever watched nowra play defense? It's atrocious. He is completely lost. Most of these kids didn't play much defense in aau games. It was all about scoring. They have to be broken down and reprogrammed. Some refuse to adjust. Most figure it out. None of us know why the kid isn't playing but I trust the coach to make his best assessment and play to win. It is really jsut insane that we as fans try to speculate who should be playing based on seeing a kid for 40 minutes a week. You are free to criticize and you may be right but you have maybe one percent of the information needed to make that call.
Hmmm... I have always heard you put one of your better passers there. I guess you’re not qualified to coach 6th grade.DP and his staff make many b-ball Coaching - 101 mistakes. In that situation you have to put your most versitale offensive player in that spot, one who can turn and face the rim, shoot the 15 footer with consistency as well as be able to drive it to the rim or kick to shooters. That’s not Anas - yet that’s who they put there. Blatant 6th grade coaching mistake.
It helps if that passer is capable of hitting the 12 to 15 foot jump shot too.Hmmm... I have always heard you put one of your better passers there. I guess you’re not qualified to coach 6th grade.
We had success running a 1-3-1 offense against the 2-3. The center doesn't have to be your best ball handler but be able to pass, hit the 12-15 footer and finish coming down the lane. Ray beats Anas on 2 of the 3.Hmmm... I have always heard you put one of your better passers there. I guess you’re not qualified to coach 6th grade.
Me too. I wish Anas had that 12-15 foot range because he can pass better than the other bigs. Williams thinks he's a 2guard. Ray finishes at the rim better than anyone else, and Anas is only good for the occasional garbage bucket and/or alley-oops along with blocking shots. That hook shot of his is not good.Yeah Ray started off shooting that 12-15 footer. I’d rather have him at the rim dunking.
