Agreed. Wasn’t going to change outcome but he and his buddies change a game when Virginia is playing. They get away with tons more contact than their opponents. That changes the way the game is played. And Valentine knows he’s a joke....doesn’t care.

Actually it was Deng. The refs had a pretty bad segment there for a few minutes, to say the least. That continuation was not even NBA worthy it was so late. He made contact with him on the floor before Guy was even attempting a shot. Backed off after the hit, then Guy goes up and nails a jumper. Continuation my ass. Then play before on Nwora, the kid almost too his head off on that dunk attempt. No call. Did refs cost us the game? A resounding HELL NO, but they sure in the hell didn't help.

Oh ,oh ,oh, I stand corrected ShortCreek. I DO remember what play you are talking about now. Earlier in the second half I think. It was an AND 1 as well wasn't it? Yeah, it was extremely late as well as questionable. Again, refs did us no favors today, but not the reason we lost. I watched it on Louisvilles WLKY with Brando and Gminski and it seemed like Gminski brought it up 4 or 5 times what bad calls went against us.

No doubt. BOTH of those AND1s were a freaking joke. Did Ray even make contact? And if he did, why was it so late? And on Dengs, it was obvious he made contact, not disputing the foul. The thing is though, it was on the drive, on the floor before Guy even was close to taking the shot. Deng even bounced off the guy and then Guy goes up and nails a shot and the goofy ass calls a continuation.Not a good game for the refs.They didn't beat us though, but still need to be called out for having a bad game. Those two calls were obvious.

Valentine has become a bit of a diva. He has developed an attitude where he injects himself into the game instead of just calling the game. He didn't cost us the game but became an unnecessary distraction.

I did hear the announcers say something along the lines as he always finds a way to get his name in the game.

To my knowledge coaches do not have an opportunity to cross off certain refs in NCAA basketball. In the 6th & 7th region of high school basketball in Louisville coaches get to eliminate a certain number of refs throughout the season that they don’t want calling their games.

I think if the NCAA would go to this that Valentine would be forced to retire.
