This Saturday at Rupp. Would love to pull off the upset but just don't see it happening.

Your thoughts on this matchup?

Unfavorable. My template for a win at Rupp is the type of shooting we saw in the first half against Duke happens for 40 minutes, but that doesn't seem realistic because I honestly only remember one game in the twenty or so times we've played at Rupp where we shot well and that was the stunner back in 1997.

We have shooters, we don't have makers and there are at minimum two people who are an automatic goose egg at the free throw line.

I think, as a general thought, that this team may play a wee bit better on the road.

They're going to need every little advantage they can get, as there are daunting road games coming up.

I now see this 'hurt' team, with extraordinarily bad 3pt shooting, finishing with about 12-ish wins.

Just recently realized CPK and teams first true road game is at Rupp. I know they will play hard and hopefully compete well but I don't see the Cards winning. I would love to be wrong though.

Definitely going to need a great shooting night to have a hope of pulling it off.

This UL team’s 3 point shooting is beyond poor; it’s enough to suggest abandoning it, if we expect to beat any good opponents.

If UK's players don't respect our 3 pt shooting and they probably shouldn't, could leave us with some open shots that we can make hopefully. I don't think Pope will coach like that. He's gonna expect that we stay to our game and will take a lot of 3s. That could open us to some drives to the basket if we don't automatically settle for shooting and open kickouts to Reyne. We will need bigger games from Scott and Rooths and more minutes from Anselem-Ibe.

I think their bad 3-point shooting would improve with better shot selection. We take a lot of tough 3s. A big part of that is that is we have trouble creating good shots. Other than Chucky, everyone else is not that difficult to guard on the dribble which means the other 4 defenders don't have to drop off their man and help.

Its a rivalry game and your coach has too much pride to go in there and get rolled.

Kelsey and Pope are good coaches that are likeable. The rivalry is going to go in a new direction with those two men running the programs.

Its good that excitement is back for both programs.

THIS. You are exactly right. Our offense is predicated on a lot of ball screens and beating people off the dribble and we don't have guys that are great at beating their man off dribble. Lots and lots of dribbling. Reyne is shooting 3s without having his feet set and with people hanging all over him.

UK, L'ville and Indiana have all been down, it's lot more fun when the three are all in the top ten (as long as UK wins, lol). Waiting for those exciting matchups, especially in the tournament.

FWIW the current line is UK -10 1/2.

Sounds about right. I can’t see us pulling the upset but I think Kelsey gets the rivalry and will have our guys battling to the end.

What an incredible shooting performance by Tony Williams, Marques Maybin and Eric Johnson that day, not to mention Cameron Murray outplaying Wayne Turner as he did the next year too.

Never heard Rupp that quiet with all the stunned slack jawed slappies.

Quick 3s as well as bad 3s. They think they have to shoot the first one they see. Draw the defense, make the extra pass or find the cutter. Patience..

Kentucky will feed off their fans, this is the biggest game to date in Rupp this season. They have had a dismal home schedule so far.

The 10 point spread is shocking to me, and perhaps the greatest compliment to Kelsey and this UL BB Team that I seen thus far. However, just when I start thinking about UK running us off the court, I am reminded of how many times that I have underestimated the underdog, and “took the points”.

Given the differences between the two teams 3point shooting percentages, it scares me to think what could happen if both teams shoot the number and percentage of 3s tonite that they have shot thus far. I can only hope that for some unknown reason we come out and shoot 40% from 3, and 50% inside the arc. If we do, we have a shot.

We just don’t have the bodies, I’m afraid. It could get ugly. It’s doubtful I’ll tune in, but my T’s and P’s will be with the team. Cards are simply undermanned. It would have to take a near flawless shooting performance, which is highly unlikely.

Ky is missing their point guard and they're not world beaters. I'll grant you it will take a special performance for us to win but teams have won games as bigger underdogs than we are in this game..

Were it not for all of our injuries I think we would have had a good chance. Having said that, I will still yell my lungs out at the tv for the Cards. If they win, it will be mostly because of our injuries. Win or lose, I am always a Cards fan. Go Cards!

It really doesn’t matter because we aren’t going to win this game but he took 5 steps on the dunk. I guess they don’t call walking anymore.

Considering how well ky played and we're only down 6 is a miracle in itself.. If we don't get wore down in the 2nd half this game could go down to the wire.. LEEETTTS GOOOOO !!
