Help me out here guys. I'm always a bit of a chicken sh!t when it comes to big games, and this one has me in my usual state of worry. We didn't shoot very well against NCSU in the last game (32.8%) and got outrebounded by 10. The Big Three (at that time) were a combined 9-32 (28%). Wayne Blackshear was the lone bright spot, scoring 19 points on 7-10 shooting (4-6 on 3s). Give me your logic and reason to believe we will redeem ourselves this time around. Obviously we will have to do a better job on the boards and shoot better to get the win. Giving NCSU their due, they have played very well down the stretch this year; I've been really impressed with their play.

UofL vs NC State 2/14/15 box score

I'll start by saying that it was a huge game for NC St.and maybe the beginning of what has been a pretty good run of basketball for them.

Our guys did not respond in kind(with the exception of Blackshear) to the hungriness shown by State that day.Without getting too negative,Rozier was in the midst of a funk and the team just did not respond to their aggression.

The team that played that day does in no way look like the hungrier, more aggressive and unselfish group I saw on Sunday.

It seemed like the Cards kind of overlooked NC St. last time. That won't happen this time.

I think if you look back a that game Montrezs didn't have a good game nor did Rozier. They also didn't rebound well. So if they flip that they will win but as any game tonight or further if Montrezz and Rozier are both having bad games we ain't winning....not against thus club. UC Irvine maybe but, not these guys.

Trez did have 13 boards in that game, so I want to give him that credit. But yeah, Rozier and Harrell only had 7 points each. Chris Jones had 20, but he was 5-16 from the floor (he hit 9-11 free throws).

Coach Pitino, our HOF coach, is 11-1 in Sweet 16 games.

Hope that helps.

Only one problem with that philosophy, Rick doesn't suit up. He can have a great game plan, but if they don't knock down shots, we will lose. Here's hoping Rozier stays hot.

Thanks Mr. Obvious. However, I'm not waxing philosophically, it's a fact, CRP is 11-1...And he always "suits up" for the Sweet 16. Very expensive suits too.

Go Cards!

Thanks guys, I'm starting to feel a little more positive about a possible win tonight.

Per ESPN...

Coach Pitino is 12-1 in Sweet 16s...Highest winning % among active coaches with at least 5 appearances.

That's strong. That number will never be matched again. Scary that we were so close to him being 13-0.

Great job coach!
