Condensed replay on B!G network right now. The way that game ended still makes me sick to my stomach. Biggest takeaway watching it again, was how terrible Petrino’s play calling was in the 2nd half. He got scared and simply choked.

No pass protection for Brohm.

I was going to have a Coronary.

Even had the Cards win, the BcS still would have chose 1 loss UF over the Cards.

If we'd had Michael Bush, we line up and go smash mouth the second half and win going away. Thanks to uk cheap ass tackling.
Agreed but, not as though he went down during that game. Up 2 scores you have to find enough offense to win. Petrino didn’t get it done.

Did Petrino 1 ever win against a ranked team on the road? I know Petrino 2 didn't.
Incredibly the answer is no. Two wins over ranked opponents (Boise St. & Weak Forest) in neutral site bowl games is as close as he came.

I remember Rutgers blitzing a lot in the 2nd half and Jeff trying to coach up Brian the sidelines on how to handle it. I can't believe it has been 13 years.

And Rutgers teed off the 2nd half on Brohm. And yes, Bush would've made a HUGE difference as we did actually run draw plays to him.

Lamar always woes me more than any player we ever had, but Michael Bush is the most impressive athlete I’ve ever seen. Maybe seeing him grow up here made a difference, but he dominated every game he ever played in any sport.

He would’ve been a great QB, but heck we had Brohm and he was good enough to move to Running back.

He would’ve won the Heisman and we would’ve made the title game. It always hurts, Football is a game of bad luck as one unlucky turn of the leg or hit the wrong way can end a season.

The thing I remember most about him is Brohm handing the ball off to run up the middle, and you'd either see 1) Bush breaking through everyone of 2) a big pile of defenders being plowed backwards (with Bush barely visible) for 5-8 yards. It was so badass.

Louisville Male Bush is the greatest thing this city all ever see. I mean he was unstoppable on the court. The man was a human highlight reel on the gridiron.

The Bush vs. Brohm State Finals forever will be the greatest event ever in this city.

The Lamar year was special, so was the Sugar Bowl. But that 2005-06 years were the height of Cardinal Football because it was Brohm/Bush, two home town kids taking us to the next level. So much heart in that group.
