Just shows the impact the NCAA tourney has on perception of a season. UNC was definitely not meeting expectations most of the season but they put it all together in the tourney. I do hate these reflexive contract extensions. As mentioned above, he isn’t going anywhere.
The problem is that if the wheels were to fall off, they’d owe a heckuva a lot of cash at one time. I don’t think that’s upholding their fiduciary responsibility to properly administer and allocate funds.
Blueblood programs like UNC unlike U of L can offer those kinds of contracts because they know if he doesn't live up to it, they won't hesitate to fire him and find the next guy. Its like all the traditionally rich football programs as well. They don't tolerate losing for very long, whereas we always seem to be hamstringed by money.
