UK Women's BB imploding. Mitchell PC at 1:30 Wednesday.

Ancient? Mac has only been at U of L since 2007. Own who you are. Someone who misuses stats and numbers to support their own reasoning... Worse than a slapdi$k....

I will add one more thing. A hypocrite to the utmost. You claim you don't want to compare us with UK in basketball and our latest series results but then want to rage on about our recent success against them in football and baseball (no other sports matter). That's as selective a person can be.

I use those sports as evidence that our success against them has nothing to do with my opinion that we shouldn't be playing them on a regular basis. That is, my opinion in basketball has nothing to do with our lack of success. And I wouldn't have expected you to understand that.

Now tell me more about that last slapd!ck victory in football or baseball. I've forgotten the details, little brother.

"Elite program", my a$$...

Why do we play the games if the wins/losses don't matter? There's more to it than just being uk. It's us vs almost the rest of the state, which some of us/a lot of us don't have very much in common with. (Sorry about the preposition.)
If he weren't so defensive and almost blame the fans then I wouldn't be so annoyed by it.
Hope everyone had a great experience in Cuba. Looking for a less pricey travel opportunity with the women. Maybe Dallas? Ellen

All wins matter. They just don't matter individually like some think they do.

I did a similar ranking across all sports awhile back, but here's what I perceive to be the approximate rank-order of games during a typical women's basketball season, from highest to lowest:
  1. Final NCAA game
  2. The other NCAA games before that
  3. The conference tournament games, with the last one most important
  4. The regular-season conference games, with the clincher most important
  5. Games against the best teams in-conference, e.g., Notre Dame
  6. An OOC game against UConn or Baylor or perhaps Maryland, if any of those teams is on the schedule
  7. The LPT game
  8. The Big Ten challenge game
  9. The rest, in no particular order
You may take issue with that ranking, but if you could ever get Coach Walz to rank them honestly, I think this list would be relatively close. 7 and 8 may actually flip in some years.

And the same is true in other sports, like it or not. I remarked the last time I did this ranking that U of L would rather have an ACC rowing championship than a slapd!ck win in men's basketball. Even if that sounds ridiculous to old-timers who can't throw off the LPT obsession...

"Elite program", my a$$.

Well you spoken for TJ, CBP, Coach Walz, Mac and now the women's bball team. If your list was even close its because it's from a FR who has never heard or been a part of the U of L/UK rivalry. Yeah like they want to play UCONN? I think that's one great plus of getting into the ACC in addition to actually having a chance to win the conference. Seems like you have the obsession..

In case you've been asleep the last decade, UConn is the women's basketball equivalent of UCLA in the 60s and 70s. Arguably, they're too low on the above list. That may change in the NEXT decade...we'll see.

Any women's basketball player who comes here recognizes UConn as a team to circle on the schedule. Comparable to LPT? Gimme a break... Only if you're still little brother.

Your the one who's been asleep, little sis. In case you have forgotten we had our chances against UCONN in the big east. How did we do? We are better off in the ACC and meeting UCONN in the championship not the regular season, where a win wouldn't mean as much.

What? That remark was nonsense then and it is now too. Let's take a poll of UofL fans and see if that assertion holds true.

I don't know of anyone who would profess to this idea on this board other than you. Not much talk or support of an ACC rowing champ other than maybe those connected to that program.

Now, a basketball win over the cats....yeah, who would want that? Call me crazy.....but somehow I think everyone would like that much more than some rowing ship. Oh my.!!!
