3 NBA first round draft picks and 6-7 MCD's AA's. Preseason # 1-2-3? # 1 recruiting class? Seriously? Dizzy from that spin.

Player ratings coming out of high school is all speculation. Some pan out, some don't. Colleges recruit players that fit their system. Right now , UK is a place a lot of the higher rated players want to play. Doesn't mean they are going to win a title as freshmen. College game is a lot faster pace than high school, some don't adjust as quick.

Ol' Batty Jones said this year was" going to be special." Football on the upswing and basketball on another 40-0 campaign. It seems he was a tad over optimistic. Just slide it over to next year. Will be the same mantra.

Two MM at the center position, one is a Junior
A MM at the power forward who is a senior, a 5 star backing him up.
A MM playing out of position.

Please stop with the no talent issue. This was a year where his lack of player development cost them. The reality is two key players never developed, Lee and AP. He doesn't develop talent he manages it. He does a great job of getting them to play hard and together, but the kids he gets are so talented he doesn't have to develop them. When he has teams where the players aren't as talented they struggle.

The fact that they have won 1 title with all that talent is amazing. They win it all last year if he just turns the team over to Ullis and Booker.

You hit the nail in the head. He manages talent. He does a good job of getting all those one and dones to check their egos at the door. But coaching up players or XO isn't his strong point. You give Pitino, Self, Williams, Coach K, or any number of other coaches UKs roster (This year) and there a final four team at the least. SuCk fans won't admit that but it's true. Lack of talent right! No lack of coaching.

Same old tired excuses coming from the predictable UofK fan base for the loss. Just once I would like to hear a consensus acceptance that the UofK Wildcats simply got beat by a better team. A pipe dream I know.

His post game show he just tried and talk about U of L's trangressions to not admit they were no good and prior to the season he was saying how they would be unstoppable etc. When Mich St lost just look at his twitter was bragging how they had a open ticket to the final four and couldnt see them not making it. They on melt down.

Cats had talent, just not enough of an inside presence. The game yesterday was back and forth, very evenly matched. IU came out on top, their interior defense was just enough. Well played match.

They're talking about having to "move" Mulder off scholarship now, to make room for another savior child. It's raw down there, ha ha.

Turns out winning with freshmen - and sometimes sophs - is as tough as winning with groomed teams by graduating class. Unless you hit the recruiting lottery, you simply won't win with freshmen.

Bryant only played 5 minutes in the first half, two key IU players got injured, that is the only reason the score was close.

Cycle21, you hit the nail on the head Cal just can't coach. I am sure he is having a sit down with WWW letting him know what he needs for next year to remedy the problem.

I agree completely. It is obvious that winning the NCAA tournament takes a mix of talent, luck, timing, and coaching. It is not easy, hence why repeat champions are not common. The best teams sometimes win, but not always. Although UK and Duke have had some good runs with Freshmen, you need experience to go along with talent... and a little luck never hurts either.

I can't speak for anyone else, but as a fan of any sport, I always want my team to be competitive, to be in the mix and have a shot. Enjoy the wins, shrug at the losses, and move on. And if they make it all the way, party like hell.

That is a very good HEALTHY outlook. I can tell the game doesn't consume you nor should it. You have a life, You aren't stalking a bunch of teenagers like their royalty. I'm the same way. I love the game. I love the wins, and I get over the losses quickly. It may take more time to fully get over this scandal looming over the basketball program today, but eventually I will. Time heals most everything.

Cue I admire an honest post. Thank You.

I agree. The Title is a very hard achievement to get. UL can attest to that. Any team can just hope for a banner worthy season.
