I was reading the thread on the UK board. I was a little surprised I didn't see a single poster angry, saying "Play the games this is BS!" The general sentiment seems to be relief, a hope that the rest of the season will get cancelled. Not everyone but multiple people.

UK's fanbase is not what it once was.

WDRB: The University of Kentucky men's basketball team has been put on a 48-hour pause for COVID-19 issues, which includes the cancellation of Saturday's game against No. 5-ranked Texas in Rupp Arena.

A release from the program says the pause is "due to a combination of positive testing, contact tracing and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the program."

This is the first COVID-19 cancellation of the season for positive tests within the Kentucky program. Games against Detroit and South Carolina earlier in the season were scrapped because of tests within those programs.

Make-up dates for those games have not been determined. The Texas game is listed as a cancellation. No rescheduling is expected.

48 hour pause, what a joke. Both our programs paused for at least 14 days. I think the men paused for 18. NCST, WF, FSU, should I go on all paused for extended periods. And for some strange reason SuCk only has to pause for 48 hours. And their fans say okay yep it’s COVID. Cal is and has always been a coward. Glad he’s not next to me in a foxhole. Dude would run at the first pop. Geez

I believe that was a bad break for Kentucky, they could’ve played for a quad 1 win against a depleted Texas team.

I actually read on their board a poster was hoping that Calipari had Covid, so he’d be out longer. I was expecting them to bash the poster, but they didn’t.

A vast majority of their fans want the season canceled. But when Duke’s coach canceled all non conference games back before Christmas, they called him coward, loser, etc. I believe Mitch and John will pull the plug.

Just curious what kind of nicknames their rivals will tag the program with. Of course there is a catch. By canceling the season, Kansas could pass them for all time wins under John’s watch.
