UConn considering jump back to Big East. Going to another conference or independent in football. Could have easily have been us. While my head is not firmly up Jurich’s ass like “some” we know. Hearing this, I have to again thank TJ for his service!!!

I read it’s a done deal and they don’t seem to care what happens to their football program. They would either dissolve it, drop it down to FCS, or park it in CUSA or the MAC.

As early as this Thursday, the Big East could announce the news.

Anyone think Western won’t jump at the chance to take their place in the AAC?

Well CommodoreCard WKU is well positioned to do just that. I am wondering what the exit fees might be for WKU out of CUSA (that’s correct, right?). And, YES, we can thank our lucky stars that Tom Jurich was here. Otherwise, there would be NO ACC for UofL. And it is that simple. This UConn situation is a very difficult reminder as to how fragile our athletic position was during and prior to conference reconfiguration. Not sure I realized that at the time.

Down the road, I always thought that when ND has to eventually become a full member, adding UConn would be a good move as the 16th member in the ACC. UConn doesn’t seem to want to wait for that day as they are putting their football program on thin ice by joining the Big East.

I’d rather have UConn in the ACC than a Directional Florida school or West Virginia.

I respectfully disagree. Even though I hold a great dislike of WVU, they would be an outstanding addition to the ACC from a geographical point and competitive stance. The Florida schools would offer a recruiting area that WVU doesn’t but I think we (the ACC) already has a foot in Florida recruiting. But I actually believe it will be a long, long time before ND makes that move. Maybe the new deal with ESPN will speed that up but there’s no indication of that so far.

I think the old guard of the ACC does not want anymore northern schools. Obviously, the conference isn’t as Bible Belt as the SEC, but it’s roots are very southern.

Why? The directional schools in Fla are better at Football and one is better at bball too right now. Wvu's fans are terrible so that would be a knock on them but they are the directional schools are way healthier athletc depts.

I agree it's much better to have your head up somebody else's a$$. In that position, it's probably hard to keep your fake mustache on though...

Personally, I would prefer to see Cincinnati to the ACC over UConn IF Notre Dame goes all in. It seems to be a better fit than UConn.

That may well happen now that UConn has put their football program forever in limbo.

I’ve kinda changed my mind about West Virginia. They are geographical natural rival for Pitt, Va Tech, UVa, and us. I would just never make a trip there because their fans make Ky fans look like Rhodes Scholars.

ACC already has 2 schools in Florida. Tobacco Road won’t let them add anymore to threaten their monopoly.

I HATE WVU, but IMO they would be a great add. They’re solid in b-ball and they take football seriously.

I’ve never been to WVU, bro. It’s universal that their fans are garbage but how is the game experience? Ive been to most of the big time places and haven’t seen a lot of negative in regards to people. Is WVU worth the trip?

As I’ve said before I’ll go to an away game against the Dothraki before I’d go back to Morganhole.

I would think UConn down grading their football program would prevent them from getting invited to any P5 conference. I would take WVU mainly because of their football program but I would never go to a game there. I had a friend go to a game there and he said there was a mother & father with their 2 kids that were about 10 & 12 years old sitting above them. In the 4th quarter of the game the mother father & the 2 kids started throwing rocks at the Louisville fans.

Bro, your dumb ass was just dissing the ACC for the AAC. GTFOH with your dumb shit. There isn’t high school football in the Power 5. You’re basically a MAC school, bro.

Uconn to a P5 conference ship has sailed far away. I don't even think they are in the top 5 G5 programs to make P5 anymore.
