The University of Louisville women's basketball team is getting a visit later this month from a prospect who has become one of the top players nationally in the Class of 2016. Sydney Zambrotta is an electrifying 5-foot-9 guard from Christ The King in North Babylon, N.Y. She will visit the Cardinals Aug. 29-31.

North Babylon, N.Y., explosive scoring guard Sydney Zambrotta had a dream school when she was growing up according to her father, Bruce, and it was the University of Louisville.
Now, after a summer when she became one of the hottest prospects in the nation Zambrotta will visit U of L.
The 5-foot-9 Zambrotta has narrowed her list to U of L, Miami, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and South Carolina and will make her first visit - to U of L - on Aug. 29-31, according to her father.
"Louisville has always been her No. 1 school," Bruce Zambrotta said. "She loves her style and she loves the coaches. (Jeff Walz) was in Spain (with USA Basketball) when he called and offered. It was pretty special.
"When you realize a goal and a dream are close to coming true, that's really special."
Zambrotta narrowed the list recently after having a ton of school come into the mix after a sensational summer with New Heights on he AAU circuit. But her father said he's not sure she will make all five visits.
"We might do a few, but not all five," he said. "Louisville being in there, they're the No. 1 school right now."
A crafty lefty, Zambrotta has been compared by some to former U of L star Shoni Schimmel because of her offensive prowess and the flair she has to her game. As an eighth-grader, Zambrotta scored 63 points in a game and burst onto the scene in New York.
Zambrotta excelled at the USA basketball Under-17 tryouts last spring and was a standout last season after transferring to Christ The King, the school that also produced former U of L star Bria Smith.
