I have attended every home game this year and never left early. I attended one road game so I have seen enough football to know that this team has too many problems to succeed. I eagerly await the naming of our new coach and his staff. It will be the first positive event of this football year.

The crowd this past Saturday was a good or better than any crowd that we had this year. They tried to back the players and stayed with them until they could no longer stand what was going on in front of them. The smaller coaching staff tried to do what they thought was best, but this team is beyond coaching for now.

It is hard to tell what our real problem is. We are too young to compete at this level and too undisciplined to consistently execute when we do some things well for a time only to lose focus on what needs to be done. Two five year penalties on the same lineman and then a holding penalty when a player makes a good run into the end zone for an apparent touchdown that causes it to be taken away.

Like I stated, twelve game will be enough this year.

The biggest problem with this team, by far, is QB. A third year sophomore with the physical talent that Jawon Pass has should be much more skilled at reading defenses and making the right play than he has shown this year. It affects both the running and passing game, and it causes the offensive linemen to think they have to hold or play a little faster in order to help the QB. Playing too fast causes mistakes like the holding and false starts that you describe.

Hopefully with the coaching change we add a fantastic QB coach who challenges Jawon to improve dramatically in the offseason. If he won’t or cannot, his future may be at tight end.

Jawon doesnt need a fantastic QB to push him. He just needs a good QB coach to teach him.

He attempted one pass Saturday to a wide open receiver and missed him by at least five yards. I do not know if you can teach accuracy or decision making.
