Trinity scores to cut to 20-19 with 1 min to go...decided to go for 2. Penalty on Male ball moved to 1 yard line....Trinity kicks PAT instead and misses....Male wins 20-19...wow

Good to see my old high school back in contention for state titles. Hopefully they can finish it off.

Their speed ultimately killed the Rocks. Rodjay Burns scored with one minute to play and took a cheap shot from a Male player. Class moment, future Cardinal teammate Keon Wakefield came to his side and kneeled down near him until they took Rodjay off the field. As far as Male winning 4 championships in a row, don't count on it. Trinity is not UK.

Gimme an H!

What do you got?

MALE!

Wow, have not heard that cheer for a looonnggg time. Did not like it then......don't like it now.

Always thought it made the once proud bulldog sound and look.......well.........something not very complimentary........and HS students should be much smarter than that. Sorry PG and all the old (talking the 60's and 70's when Male was dominant) Male HS grads!

Male crushed Trinity 42-13 the first game

It was not a cheap shot. It was a quick slant in traffic and #28 delivered a blow that was called Head-To-Head contact.

MrFootbalFan, so your point is that:
Trinity has better coaching and the Rocks got better and Male didn't.
Trinity has better coaches and they made adjustments and Male didn't.
Trinity played harder than Male.
What is your point and on a side note I hope Male wins the title.

I think it is a shame how the KHSAA has manipulated the playoff to ensure weaker teams from out in the state can advance.

Male didn't need anything but an H.

We were the first HS west of the Allegheny's (1856) and the only high school in Louisville. Male had students and grads fight on both sides of the Civil War.

So it was "High School", and the letter sweaters had an "H". The Alma Mater even starts with "Let's give a Rah for Dear Old High School" and ends with "hail to dear old High School hail!" and refers to one particular rival (Manual). Why? Because Manual was the only opponent at the time.

Manual started as Louisville Girls HS and this is when "High School" became "Male" HS. Then when Manual went co-ed, the rivalry started.

Funny how things change, and yet stay the same . Flaget, St X, Male, and Manual were the schools to beat, and the calendar was circled when any of them played each other.

Funny story, my brother's Male team won the AAA state title by forfeit. Eastern HS forfeited the game rather than wait to play the week after Thanksgiving. The Male-Manual game was on T-day then and was played at Fairgrounds Stadium to handle the crowd.

Lot of things have changed, but it's still the "H" for Male because we got it first. ;)

Excuse me then, it was targeting. Male got away with two late hits out of bounds as well. I never want to blame the refs but when Trinity advances to this point in the playoffs each year, it appears it's not only the opposing teams they have to beat but the officials as well. Win state Male!

Trinity in the 70s had the weak region. Male manual and StX played each other. Trinity played seneca eastern moore ect...weakass competition.

Male is a better team

Trinity has never had the easy schedule I think you're confused who Trinity was paired with. You also didn't mention that even though Trinity and St X were placed in different districts when they played each other it was counted as a district loss to the loser.

In the 70's Seneca was a powerhouse program and you are forgetting about DeSales, Flaget and Bishop David who also had strong programs back then. You must be young.

Trinity complaining about the officiating...Ive read it all!!!! When I played the vast majority of local officials were Trinity/St x grads. Does the local officiating association still officiate the catholic grade school league instead of the public league on Sundays?
