Too much emphasis on feeding the post

Kerry , You right about that. Though perhaps its just me but in my opinion they could have been productive in and out of the post with the opposing matchups but as you eluded to the execution was sub-par for what ever reason. Not saying Williams and or Enoch could or should have dominated but it would be safe to say they could have been imposing a little ill-will down low which could have contributed to perhaps a different outcome. But in the grand scheme of things while this loss pinches me in my side a little bit , its just one game and we got plenty of time to get right and come completely together though I don't like giving away games in the process that we are capable of winning.

How can you have too much emphasis when inside is the only place you can hit a shot?

The proper critique may be too little ability to pass inside. I'd halfway agree with that, although I'm not sure how you get better at that if you don't try...

Because it wasnt working.
Only offense Cards ran were forced 3 point shots or inane passes inside.

Need to incorporate ISOs or run high lows with Malik and Enoch. They did play roughly about 4 minutes together.

Shoot more mid range shots and have rebounders in position.

Once a different set is run , then go back inside. Keep switching it up, too keep them off balance.

When our ballhandlers get it to the post our bugs force too many shots. They need to kick it back out for open jumpers. The majority of our shots last night were contested. Its a proven fact when bad shots are taken your % goes down. That was a whole game of bad decisions a d uninspired play. Sad. But Its no secret we have a lot of work to do. Might as well get started on it. If we ever figure out how to move without the ball the offense will magically be productive.
.its not complicated. When our guys stand around we look awful. When they are moving without the ball we could be almost unstoppable. Period.

The entry passing was off target, bad spacing The 3s weren't going. The guards have limitations on shot creation.

Going inside was the only thing working, albeit minimally. Enoch hit 50% and Malik hit 100%, and he got to the line a lot also.

There’s so many threads out there but I’ll respond to this one. We went in thinking we had a size advantage (which we did). We took advantage on the 1st play of the game. TT which plays great defense adjusted by denying entry passes into the post, they started doubling down. As Zipp mentioned our bigs should have passed back out when they got the ball instead of going 1 vs 2 or even 1 vs 3. But are bigs are finesse and soft and are not strong with the ball. Coach Mack got outcoached because he should have gone to our smaller lineup with Sutton at the 5 instead of trying to play 2 bigs at the same time for the first time this season. We will continue to struggle until we figure out the PG situation. I’m not convinced that DJ is a true PG either, he looks more like a slasher scorer than a facilitator.

Dave is absolutely a true point. But coming off an injury and an adjustment to competition level, he's going to have some growing pains. All freshman do. But nobody can adjust or grow playing only a handful of minutes each night. Mack is wasting time by not letting him loose to show off his skill set. He truly is a great distributor and time will show the fanbase that.

Our inside guys have always shot when they should have passed. That’s Enoch and Williams. The difference last nite is TT recognized that and took advantage...

Not just about offense. He hs to play defense, which is why he’s not out there more right now. He’ll get there.

We tried to feed the post from the top of the key (horrible angle) like 4 straight trips down the floor and turned it over three of the four times, I believe. It was infuriating.
