Really disappointed in the gameplan execution on both offense and defense.

The Houston staff did a great job taking away Lamar's ability to run. That put him in situations where he was trying to create without the benefit of his legs. When an inexperienced QB gets into those situations they have bad turnovers.

On a bigger scale, it is so strange seeing a disjointed offense under Petrino. When running his normal power-pro style offense, it seems like plays build upon themselves. In this shotgun read Petrino looks like any other coach. It really is crazy that they could not settle on a QB or what kind of offense they want to run. Earn your paycheck McGee.

As far as defense goes, it is mind-blowing that a defense with so many NFL prospects can be so shaky tackling and cannot get a decent pass rush. Also the defense early on didn't look prepared for the no huddle, which is also mind-boggling. The other big issue was the lack of contain on Ward. Seems like that would have been a big point of emphasis for the defense. Earn your paycheck Grantham.

One last contrast was the energy on the sidelines. Houston players seemed excited and engaged while UofL guys looked like they were going through the motions. Earn your paycheck Petrino.

Pretty bad effort end-to-end by all concerned. Worst coached and played game since one of Kragthorpe's. Nothing heartening in game. Nothing.

It amazing how a young offensive line can make coaches and the entire offense look bad.

And Eric Wood, Kurt Quarterman and Breno Giacomini ain't walking thru that door.

I'm hoping they grow up in a hurry because the talent of our skill players is being wasted. Clemson is coming and I can't remember a shakier feeling going into a big game with Petrino as our coach.

I think we will be alright if we get a consistent game plan going offensively. I like Bolin the best I know Coach Petrino wants the dual threat quarterback but I don't think we have what will work yet in that area. Lamar is a good athletes but he is very young and inexperienced at this level.

Another problem is the young offensive line and having different quarterbacks with different styles. This is going to be a crash course of different systems every week.

But, where is the Petrino offense that we all knew and loved. It looks like the old playbook has gone missing and replaced with an off-the-shelf variety. He showed at Western he can adapt his players to his system but that's not happening here. We've got a thrower in Bolin, put him in there and light up the scoreboard like we used to.

My 26 year old daughter attended the game with me. She commented early in the first quarter that she was concerned that the Houston players were more enthusiastic than the Cards. She proved to be correct.

This game and play with Lamar was to be expected. Other teams now have game film on Lamar and RB, and prepare for them. Lamar is the future for sure, but IMO Bolin is the signal caller presently. It will take an experienced 0-line to secure success and we just don't seem to fit that mold yet! The Defense failed to contain Greg Ward (Houston.) and their Offense! UL failed to accurately move its Offense against Houston's Defense...they did a good job. Congratulations are due to Houston!!

Cat fan here.... You guys have some beast on the defensive side of the ball! Especially in the front 7. What I see an I watch both of your games,is you lost a lot off that defense last year.
Your starters are really good but your depth isn't there.. Houston went hurry up in the first half and it didn't show up till the forth quarter.
Your defense was gassed IMO..
If petrino doesn't get the offence figured out it will put termendus pressure on a defense that's a little thin in the depth department. Your offence looked much better with bolin,even the oline looked better!!!

I personally think you will beat Clemson Thursday night... You have good players,it just takes some teams a little time to find there play makers...
