I liked seeing the full court pressure and jumping the passing lanes on defense. Lack of a solid rim protector hurts.

The offense looked really rough though. The faster pace appeared to be rushed shots and poor shots a little too often. When they played a little more under control for spurts it looked a bit bettet.

I know it's still early, but what did you all think?

Total new system and players with diffrent skill sets . And no head coach this team has to learn to crawl before they walk. Nothing they do at this point ois going to look good whatsoever.

I could be wrong but I think they are still playing a version of the pack line defense and added a full court press.
So straight up man to man defense. They starting to play more aggressive and further out on defense than we have in the past though.

I haven't seen them play yet, but it's weird to me that Mack has them pressing. I remember him making a comment last year (or the year before) "I'm not Rick Pitino with a full court press" (paraphrased). I hope he came to this conclusion himself, because if this is his reaction to criticism then this is like when Charlie Strong hired a gunslinger OC at Texas - that's just not who he is.

He came to this conclusion because he’s smart enough and yes he does pay attention to social media so he knows what the fan base is saying. We love the high flying doctors of dunk and there are certain facets of the game like the full court pressure that was part of what made us special. The Bam or wham effect of going on 10-12 point runs. He realizes he hasn’t won the entire fan base over yet so he’s willing to adapt, which hopefully is a plus.

ps - I typed dunk and auto corrected it to funk… that could be fun too! 😆

I'd rather see Mack win or lose with his own style rather than see him change to please a portion of the fans who won't support him no matter what since he isn't Pitino/Crum.
