The Coastal Division of the ACC has had 6 different schools win the coastal in the past 6 years.
2013 -- Duke
(lost to Florida State in the ACC Championship - Florida State won the national title that year)
2014 -- Georgia Tech
(lost to Florida State. FSU went on to lose to Oregon in the first round of the first four team playoff).
2015 -- North Carolina
(lost to Clemson in the ACCC. Clemson beat Oklahoma, then lost to Alabama in the title game).
2016 -- Virginia Tech
(lost to Clemson in the ACCC. Clemson smoked Ohio State, then beat Alabama in the title game).
2017 -- Miami
(lost to Clemson in the ACCC. Clemson lost to Alabama in the first round of the playoffs.)
2018 -- Pittsburgh
(lost to Clemson in the ACCC. Clemson crushed Notre Dame, then beat Bama for the national title).
Virginia is on deck.
And they are the odds on favorite to win the Coastal this year.
