Whoever wins the football game loses the basketball game. Odd how many times that's happened.

That is pretty eerie. Also, it's funny how accurate Vegas is. But anyway, congratulations. A few years ago this loss might have hurt. But Louisville deserved it this year.
It sure has been a weird year everything is reversed. They win the football game and we win both Men's & Women's basketball game.
This is the exact post i was about to post on our board, it really is a weird scenario. My question for you UofL fans, would you rather had the win this year in football or basketball?
Hard question. I'm by far a football fan first. UK didn't cost us a chance at the playoff, but bumped us out of the Orange bow.
I think the basketball team needed it more than the football team due to UKs dominance of late. But a december loss in hoops doesn't really affect you in NCAA tournament play. Every game counts in football.''

The fan in me says basketball. We had already screwed ourselves with the Houston loss in football. It's nice to end that basketball draught. But probably in reality, the football loss may have cost us more (Orange vs Citrus Bowl) than another OOC basketball loss.
Unless both teams get a top 4 seed in the tournament they will probably pair us in the regionals for a rematch.
I certainly hope not.......do you ever have Duke matched up vs UNC? I know they are both in the ACC yadda, yadda, yadda. If there is any re match....I prefer it be in the FF.
Actually I believe the last time Louisville won we won in football and in baseball. If not the last time then the time before that.
I think both teams have done it twice. We did it first, I think 2003. They did it around 2009 and 2010. We did it last in 2012-13. 4 years out of about 22. Weird.
Duke and North Carolina play two maybe three times in a year. Hard to match them up in the tourney.
The baseball team needs to stop this recent trend of streaks ending.. Baseball has won 5 in a row I think and I don't want it to end.

So what.....you miss the point. It would not be any harder than matching up UofL vs UK when they are both ranked in the T10 or T20.....which Duke and UNC usually are by the end of the year.
My point is, this isn't done because that lessens the chance that one of them can even make it to the FF4. Recent history shows that the NCAA pairs UofL and UK in the same region so only one of them can make it to the FF4. There have been exceptions to that.... but.the norm, as I see it, is the drama for S16, E8 games is manipulated more often for the KY schools than it ever is for the NC schools.
There is built in bias to the methodology that the NCAA employs in the selection process. Otherwise, there would have been at least some meetings take place between the two Carolina schools in a regional......and played outside of the home state advantage that these 2 schools more often than not benefit from.
It really doesn't matter to me that Duke/UNC has already played 2 or 3 times..\yadda, yadda, yadda from an obvious NC fan, etc.
The two times we played in the tourney we were both championship quality teams. Can you imagine us meeting in the ship?
