I remember earlier in the season, during the Battle 4 Atlantis Tourney, about some of us talking about how this team didn't really have a "star" and go to player. It was pointed that Mitchell seemed to be the guy the team turned to late in the game or when we needed a clutch bucket but he just wasn't there quite yet.

It took longer into the season, the IU game in fact, but it seems that Mitchell has really become the Card's star player and go to scorer. He has improved his game so much since just the start of this season. His 3 point shot is money and his confidence is sky high. Late during the NC State game, he could've chucked up a shot to try and break his career scoring high but instead passed it off to a big for an easier bucket. He has become the main- but definitely not only- cog in this machine with his scoring, defense, rebounds, and assists. He is quickly becoming a complete player.

This teams now has everything. At first it had elite defense, rebounding, height, quickness, a rim protector, depth, experience, talented youth, and group of guys who all contribute well. We didn't have that "go-to" guy who can put the team on his back and go will his team to victory when it's needed. We now have that guy. I want a Final Four from this group. I now expect the Cards to win in Charlottesville, which I basically wrote-off as a loss one month ago. This team "has it."

The more I think about this, I wonder why more players are not showing vast improvement.

It's there you just don't recognize it. Anas has gotten stronger and developed more offensive moves. Levitch can now be trusted with several minutes and run the offense. Snider, although hurt has become a more complete true PG with scoring and assists both up. mango is playing like he was before he was hurt. McMahon has proven he is a deadly shooter. Hicks can ball too.

Yes that is all true. Judging by the standard of DM it all pails in comparison. Anas is vastly improved though.

Really looking forward to games when everyone clicks and plays their best ball.
