Thankfully there was no money to buy Petrino out....

You'll most likely hit on my point that you've evidently missed. You say that you don't care about likes but here you are talking about the amount you have - and how you get them without trying - in multiple posts. It's evident that you care way more about them than you let on - even when they come from slapdicks...

Human nature I guess...
I never bring them up until someone wants to talk about how out-of-sync I am with everyone else. (Which is never the thread's topic BTW...) It's a form of hard data...

You are "out of sync with everyone else" because that's your move for the most part. You take the opposite side mostly just to irritate or, because someone else stated that position before you could. Agreeing with people in this type of forum goes against your grain. You are getting called out - not so much for having a different position - as for trying to constantly shit on other posters' optimism.

I fully believe that if they hired TJ back - you'd start a thread talking about how he should've rejected it because it took them too long...

That's misrepresentation, and you probably know it. I took a count once upon a time, and there were maybe 20% of the threads I even posted in. If I'm so hellbent on just being at odds with everyone, why am I ignoring 80% of the pasture?

In reality, I only post on threads that interest me and in response to points I disagree with. Do I occasionally say "you're right" or "this"? Sure. But all that does is run up my post count, and I sure as hell don't need that.

If you wanna accurately characterize my style, it's to moderate. Optimism is too often uber-optimism. I reminded Jack Coffee awhile back that if everyone wanted to "$hit on" Tyra, I'd be suggesting he's given a chance. Find me many people here taking that position.

I think you've followed me long enough to know this. Really just laying it out for someone who hasn't. Now, let's get back to the subject...

I know its off topic and apologize but who do you see as realistic replacements for Petrino, I'm not sold on Brohm leaving Purdue not saying it won't just wouldn't surprise me if he stays. I've also heard Bud Foster and would be shocked if he left VT to many have tried and failed to get him.

What is an odd POV, is Zipp with the warnings of how bad things can and potentially will become for UofL athletics. It's as if he wasn't copied on the group emails. Hoops and pigskin are laughing stocks and never been looking worse in our lifetime.

But beware, things can get worse!!!!

Thanks for asking... It's kinda ironic I guess, but I don't have a strong opinion about who the next football coach should be. Brohm is the guy with the best shot to bring back fans and money, for sure. And that's what motivates me the most. That's not necessarily saying he's the best coach available.

Everyone else is way down the shortest possible list. All I know is things will get more interesting if Brohm declines the job. And as you say, there's a very real possibility of that...

I’m not sure about laughing stock but I can promise you things can most definitely get worse. After Gene Stallings left in 97 Bama suffered for a decade from Dubose to Shula it was one of the worst times I can ever remember for our program. Brohm maybe the God sent that everyone here seems to be looking for but what if he’s not. I’ve seen it play out to many times, this should be a well thought out plan from A to Z not the knee jerk reaction that it’s looking like but that’s my two cents and it won’t even buy you a cup of coffe. Good luck Cards hope whoever you guys find is a great fit!!

Fair enough - you don't take the opposite side to intentionally irritate, you only respond to threads with positions that you oppose. A subtle distinction if there ever was one. I have read enough of your posts to get it and - I ain't mad at you - and there are many things that we have agreed upon. With that said, there are lots of times to play the contrarian - it just doesn't go over so well in times of crisis.

What is it that John L. said? Something like during time such as these that, "we need everyone in the boat rowing in the same direction". There was another part, but I'll leave that out - lol.

UofL is a laughing stock nationally these days.
Thanks for not piling on though.

FBI,Strippergate, Post Season Bans, Title Banners taken down, and 2-10 with blow out after blow out. mass transfers....really sounds alot worse than your tough times with Stallings or Shula! Your premise does not apply to these times for UofL sports fan. This is rock bottom.

And I'm not arguing for or against Brohm.

I was trying to allude to the fact that U of L can be re-established fairly quickly by the right person if the administration goes into the hiring process with the right mind set. Whether Brohm is or isn't the coach for the job is above my pay grade but with the wrong hire its gonna take a while. These kids haven't forgot about Lamar Jackson playing at Louisville so recruiting is there but give it a couple years and its old news, that's our society. I have no reason to pile it on, enjoy coming here from time to time so I'm not trying to piss anyone off and I think Louisville being relevant help thread the needle for high school ball in Kentucky, which I also enjoy and have a personal interest in... BTW Gene Stallings was actually one of my favorite Tide coaches (even after the shenanigans that got us in trouble) especially after we finally got rid of Bill Curry yuck still hate saying his name, Dubose was a straight pos as was Shula...

My my my. So for the next 3 years we will be paying 9.5 million just for P and brohm. Hey i have to admit im eating crow. Big balls by vince.

Had no choice. Payout or watch the FB program hemorrhage. We’ve come to far to allow that.

Yeah I get all that. I don't think you got my point it's okay. Good luck to your team down the stretch!
No I got what your saying but those people piling it own never liked U Of L anyway so it doesn’t matter. Think you all have the opportunity to come back stronger than before Mack seems to have things headed in the right direction on his end hopefully the football can do the same. Thanks for the well wishes I’m enjoying it, not sure Nicky gonna be around much longer...

That would be my point, things in general are so blown out of proportion b/c of media coverage, social media, and everyone out there has an opinion. Times are a little a tough around here right now, but UL still has a VERY solid athletic program. Basketball is back on track to be back where it belongs within 2 years and I am confident we will have competitive prdocuct defending Cardinal Stadium within 2 years. Been a fan for 35 years and there is good and bad with anything. Basketball/Football need fan support more now, than ever.
