I attended U of L in the sixty's. Was at every home and very few away basketball and football games.i follow the university in all sports. The university's hiring Denny Crum in the earlly 70's was a changing moment in the history of the schools athletic contribution to our standing in the collegiate world ( which is mainly athletic) . The basketball program exploded. I remember seeing Denny on TV at national televised games always promoting the University . When I here about his legacy I always remember Allan Houston. Wade Houston who was a player for the Ville in the 60's was their best recruiter, never said much in timeouts, Allen Houston one if not the best high school guards in the country. Allen signs with the Ville then Wade is offered the Tenn coaching position. Though Allen already signed a letter of intent to the Ville Denny being the professional person he was let Allen out of his commitment.;In allowing his best recruiter and prospect to leave was the beginning of the end of his tenure..personally I would like to acknowledge Coach Denny Crum as the force behind our success today. THANK YOU COACH Denny Crum.
