Where is the place then CardX? The man was an icon to the Christian faithful all across the world. I wasn't a huge fan of his, but his passing deserves proper respect and reflection. May he rest in peace for all eternity.

Take it to Facebook. There are appropriate forums. A sports message board is not one of them. If we start paying homage to televangelists, where does it end?

Since it’s deemed important or the right thing to do, paying respects to a 99 year old millionaire that had a pretty great life, then I want to pay my respects by taking a moment of silence here for the 17 kids senselessly slaughtered in Florida last week and the 2 students in Marshall County that were senselessly slaughtered last month and the 58 innocent concert goers senselessly slaughtered in Las Vegas 5 months ago and the 26 church goers that were senselessly slaughtered in Texas, right before that and the 12...........etc. etc.

:(

I didn't think it was in bad taste for wilkie paying respect to the man. It was thoughtful and respectful. Our society could use a little bit more of both IMO.
I agree - society could use more thoughtfulness and respect. It could also use a lot more discretion on social media - just because you had a great steak or, loved your vacation doesn’t mean that you need to put it out in the public domain.

I miss the days when someone’s faith - or lack thereof - was a private matter.

Sure it's respectful, that's not the point. Unless you are good with this board being the place for posts about religious leaders of all faiths, and non-religious philosophers for that matter, it's not the place.

Wow.....I’ve purposely not posted here because of your current situation with the Basketball program but just because you guys are in a sour mood doesn’t mean you should have an issue with a nice tribute to Billy Graham. We lost a good Christian Man today that did a lot of good during his time on Earth, we should have all tried to live should a good life.

Agree. I was gonna post that I scored front row seats at the Palace Friday night to watch Jim Gaffigan but you talked me out of it.:D

What if it had been a nice Muslim man? You want those posts on a basketball board as well?

I believe the phrase you're looking for is "time and place"...

If you didn't want to read it then why did you? It's not as if the board is littered with off topic or religious themed messages. Further, the board has mods to make these decisions.
