I would love to one day see a coach run a system where every player on the floor moved constantly. I mean constantly too. When they feel they cannot keep pace they are subbed out. If a coach had a roster of 12 players who whole heartedly bought into a system like this with conditioning and maximum effort I think we would see the best college team ever. Think about it . with constant movement you accomplish things like, most possessions you will end up taking a high percentage easy open shot, you would cause your opponent to foul a lot which comes with free throws and players fouling out. You create fatigue in every team you play. You will always win the rebounding battle. The list goes on. Recruiting you wouldn't need prototypical centers or whatever. A team of 6-3 - 6-7 guys could run it perfectly. You would guarantee certain advantages every game.. Fatigue, free throw, foul trouble, rebounds, possessions ( because of effort ) and lay- ups easy buckets. It would be a thing of beauty.

Basketball, as a game, has become flat, boring, and uninspiring. This is true in high school, college, the NBA and in women’s competition. Fundamentals are poor even though players are bigger and more athletic. It’s become a sport of little aesthetics. If not for my love of the University of Louisville there’s no way I’d watch a game.

Loyala Marymount did some of this maybe 20 years ago or so under Paul Westhead. It helped that he had some high level transfers on the rosters but they did play insanely fast and had some real success doing it. I don't recall them necessarily going 12 deep to do it. But he trained the team to get in shape and they just wore out other teams playing so fast.

Not a big NBA fan,but most of those teams get it offensively. Great ball movement, with as little body movement as possible.

Yeah I think what we see is players in the NBA have a grasp of what they can and can't do well, and specialize as such.

It was really fun to watch. They would get the ball up court and take a shot within 3 seconds. Took and made a lot of 3 pointers. I think this was still in the 45-second shot clock era, so the contrast between LMU and everyone else was stark.

I remember. I wasn't necessarily speaking of great game speed more of great Consistancy in off ball movement. When an offense has 1 guy with the ball and 4 that never stop moving it destroys a defense. Even on possessions when no points are scored.you still pushed the defense hard. Its really better to run at least 2\3 s of the play clock cause that's 20 seconds each possession they have to work harder than they want to. F u'll court press too. I'd would be great. On a serious note I don't understand why we don't run at least a. Half court trapping press. That way faster guards can't beat ours down the court but it still pushes the opponent. Man if we were a great passing ball rotation team we would freaking run a weekly clinic. Passing on that level would more often than not put us on a good look and better shots mean better shooting%. With the shooters we do have it would bale a thing of beauty.
