I support this team through good or bad. I don't take wins for granted and I don't take future opponents for granted either.

With all due respect to Mike Tirico - Syracuse is just a bad football team. So how does this one go?

What are you guys looking for in this one?

You would like to see some kind of strides made on offense. While the season is nearing an end, we play so many FR there is still plenty of time for some player development here.

I'm hoping the D can keep doing what they have done most the year. Of course we'd like to eliminate the fluke big plays, but since they are flukes, sometimes it just happens.

And what about the special teams? Can we get anything out of that unit this week?

Spread was what, 12 pts? I just don't know if we can cover that.

Thoughts?

Well, with all the responses ;) I will say this:

I'm tired of guessing and thinking.

I'm just watching and hoping for a win.

I will say, I hope this young team doesn't think Cuse is "just bad".

That could be just bad for us.

This will be the first truly weak D we've faced (not including Samford) so am hopeful we find a much needed spark offensively. I think we will cover the spread for the first time in a while.

The Orange have given up an average of 33.5 points per game vs FBS opponents.

They did beat Wake Forest by 13 at 30-17.

They lost to Pitt by 3 at 20-23

LSU beat them 34-24 at the Dome in Syracuse.

FSU beat them 45-21.

Cuse performs in the same unpredictable manner that the Cards do.

My take: If the Cards meet the average that Cuse allows......the Cards 'D' will not give up that many points to this team in PJCS......no way.
Cards win 31-20. Cards 'D' is way better than the Cuse's 'O'. Card's 'O' will grow up a little in this game and began the jelling process needed to win the last 4 games on the way to 8-4. The almighty 'Carmack' appeared to me and told me so. ;):)

They seem to be competitive at home, but not as much on the road. I say that, but haven't looked up data to confirm. I just recall they played LSU kind of tough and PITT kind of tough at home.

And to the poster that pointed out the series is close, good call. I don't take anything for granted, especially with the unfortunate self destructive style we bring to the table at times.

well, I'll go ahead and say it...someone has said it every game this season and I'll be darned if this is the first game someone hasn't...We will dominate in this game.

The boys came out flat at Wake, got lucky to sniff out the victory and won't let that happen this week.

The D will want to prove something early and the offence will have some space to move.

I look to cover 12 pts easily...44-13 CARDS

there...I feel better now.

I hope this is "the" game in which we put it all together. While not a good team, the Orange could easily be 5-3 just as we could easily be 6-2.

I like us to win 31-21. Syracuse is young but they play extremely hard against everybody which should be enough to give us a another scare especially with our O-line and the chance that Lamar is still not 100% at full speed.
