Basically if it weren't a different shade of orange it looked like every time we played Virginia:

1. Chase people through a gauntlet of screens for 28 seconds and lose contact with a three point shooter. Late shot clock threes are big body blows.
2. Look like our offense is composed of Conscientious Objectors to entering the lane and beating the air out of the ball on the perimeter for 25 seconds.
3. Have a big rebounding margin because we had a high volume of misses vs. their high volume of makes.

A clear setback from the sort of fluid passing game we had seen previously, but we clearly needed the upgrade in competition to shine light on weaknesses.

I think we went into that game just sure we were going to win and when Tennessee came out playing lockdown D our guys didn't adjust and we were instantly down 10-0 and we didn't respond well to that at all. We did make a couple of mini runs but Tennessee tightened up on D and knocked down some 3's that put us right back on our heels. Hopefully a lesson learned. We'll get better..

Funny what hype will do to a fanbase. It even reached into the minds of the oddsmakers which in inexcusable. I told a guy sitting next to me a Morehead St game that Tennessee was going to kill us. I don’t gamble my kids money away but that would have been a no brainer.

I don't think Tennessee could've played a better game. Hats off to them, but do you want to be playing your best this early?
I guess we'll have to see if they are that good in 4 months.
UT was motivated as they felt disrespected that they were suddenly the underdog. Plus, they didn't play their best in their first game.

They have a good, veteran head coach and three starters back from elite 8 team. They're experienced enough to know they had to hit Louisville early in the game, and the upstart Cards would no doubt struggle to adjust to adversity for the first time.

It was pretty much clear cut and why it's ridiculous for fans to say this was just like the KP teams. Remember last season when Louisville played a ranked Texas I believe was the 3rd game of the season?

Texas overlooked Louisville and it took a last second shot for them to win. We Cards fans had hope because this was a ranked team. Turned out it was a total outlier which I believe this 22 point loss to Tennessee will be also.

That pregame line was unbelievable. Tennessee was ranked 12th and we were ranked 65th at best. How they put us as a favorite is beyond me. If I was a Tennessee fan I would've loaded up on that..

You always want to play a Rick Barnes coached team in February and March, not November, December, and January.

Disappointed in our offense.

Thought we would move people and move the ball, screen, reverse the ball

Kind of like UConn does.

We had token movement, got knocked off our cuts, then dribbled the air out of it and took bad shots

There's a reason we shot a terrible percentage. We took bad shots.

The culture is a complete turnaround from the $hit show of Captain Kluster

I think we'll be ok.

Defensive effort was there.

Thought our asst that's an offensive guru would have more for us than that.

There were some trips it looked like last year on offense. Bad shots, shot clock violations.

But UT is very good. Very physical. Great coach.

Go Cards

Beat Bellarmine.

I'll be there

The effort was there because of the crowd.

The place was dying for anything positive.

The crowd is gone and will be hard to get back

And that’s on 16.9 K

Kelsey got a lot of hoeing to do with this bunch

Hard to pass when the defense provides no separation! Vols eliminated us from getting into any offensive rhythm in the half court, and stopped every single fast break opportunity.

Lol,I was unaware that they even missed in the first half.

The crowd is not gone and will be back.
I'm open to any kind of wager to that effect.
