Any chance Spalding works on his shot enough to be an effective stretch 4? That is his only hope to make it into the NBA. Having guys who can knock down jumpers from the 4 position makes a team very difficult to defend.

I'm sorry that I am critical of Spaulding. Announcers say he has the most potential of any player. Maybe because he's shown so little. At times, he looks like a HS sophomore. He's timid and unsure of himself.

Unless he develops a jump shot I don't see what potential they are talking about. He is so thin that he cannot handle physical play.

Anas needs to do the same thing. He should watch tape of the Michigan center for the blueprint of how he needs to play to be the most effective - let's face it - he'll never be a banger in the post.

Instead of the shot blocking prototype big man, I would like to see CRP recruit a European three point shooting, ball-handling big man that seems to be becoming common place on a lot of college teams.

Pitino recruited the shot blocking type center because he thought it would be tough for our guards to defend based on the new rules. He generally goes with whatever is best defensively. However it definitely put limits on the offense when your 4 and 5's can't make a shot more than 3ft from the basket.

He certainly looks like a stretch 4, however he is a tweener right now and not in a good way. He doesn't have the strength to post up inside and doesn't have the skill, like ball handling and jump shooting, to score outside. He really needs to work on strength, ball handling, and especially his jump shot to be more effective.

Gosh dang it, I wish I was Matz right now. I get my butt in the weight room and start lifting. I would also go to the gym and work on some post moves till I dropped from exhaustion.

Anas missed two shots zero ft. from the basket. I'm still bitter. Although it was kind of systemic through the whole year how they couldn't close out games.
