Xavier University and men's basketball head coach Travis Steele have agreed to part ways, The Enquirer has confirmed. The story was first reported by Rick Broering, publisher of MusketeerReport.com.

Steele missed the NCAA Tournament all four seasons he was the head coach. He was under contract through the 2023-24 season.

If I am an AD there is no way I am paying Chris Mack to run my basketball program. He literally quit in the middle of the season. He quit really think about that. A season he created with his decisions. Xavier just fired his right hand man. No way they go back to Mack.

Word here in Cincy, is that Sean Miller will take over Xavier again. No one knows if he is going to have a "show cause" or not, but he still has a home here and even though he is a known cheater, he is better than Mack.

On 93.9 this morning they said that Mack considers himself retired and wants at least one season off. Apparently, the Louisville job just burned him completely out; I believe it because I got less impressed with him every year (#1 ranking aside, they slid considerably after that before COVID ended the season).

Miller will get a show cause. 1-2 years reading the IRP tea leaves.

Sean Miller being reported as going back to Xavier after turning down uscjr.

Look I get it but man this is a big gamble. Based off what the IRP has done and their comments Miller is going to get hit in the IRP process.

This tells me either Xavier has been told something like it is only going to be a couple of games.
