I believe there will be way more cheers than boos at the Yum. Cards hoops are 🔥 and most fans wish to leave the negative energy alone. Pitino saved UofL hoops the first time and kept the program a blue blood.Hot take, but I don’t see a 74 year old Rick coming in to the YUM! Center and risk being booed. If they are pushing to play at Madison Square Garden first, I believe it’s because Rick may retire after next season.
Now KP on the other hand would get BOOOOOOOOOOOOOed hard! Fans wouldn't care about that negative energy! LolI believe there will be way more cheers than boos at the Yum. Whether fans hold him responsible are not for the chaos that enveloped the program, there's no argument that without him, the program may have been lost long ago like Georgetown and Indiana have become.
He certainly wanted to be here even after the scandal broke, but there were too many forces that didn't want him here. I will not boo him, unless the Johnnie's beat us by 30. Lol

I agree there. KP has been disowned by Cards fans for stealing us blind. Had he resigned after that first season and admitted he was not qualified, he probably would have been forgiven. Now KP on the other hand would get BOOOOOOOOOOOOOed hard! Fans wouldn't care about that negative energy! Lol
This is where I'm at. UofL is far bigger than Rick and we made our mark as a Blue Blood top 7 or 8 program of all time before he came along...My initial take is different, but it is possible that my approach could change as things develop. UL does not need Rick Pitino, as the amazing turnaround from Payne to Kelsey occurred without any assistance from Rick. I say this, as one who believed from the very beginning, and still believe that terminating Rick and Tom were not only mishandled, they were both victimized by a totally irresponsible UL Administration (lame duck President Postel and a clueless BOT). Just for the record, I do not hate Pitino; I just want UL to be credited for its own accomplishments, and not having to share our past, present and future focused on Pitino.
Any game in MSG will be all about Rick, and it is time for UL to be recognized nationally as an incredible success story long before Pitino arrived here. Now if Rick had worked as hard lobbying to have the 2013 NCAA Championship restored to UL, as he did to defend his own reputation …….. I would view this quite differently. Luke Hancock set the foundation for the restoration of the NC Banner, and Pitino has the perfect platform to make the case for lifting the misguided NCAA decision that took away a well-deserved Championship.
That’s turning a negative into a positive ! LolNow KP on the other hand would get BOOOOOOOOOOOOOed hard! Fans wouldn't care about that negative energy! Lol
Let’s not act like jilted lovers. The Pitino years were good times and we should remember them as such, but still be happy with who we have now and where we are going. This is where I'm at. Rick is all about Rick, anything he does is for Rick..
This would be a must watch game for college basketball fans everywhere. I'll sure be watching. I was surprised that the NCAA selection committee didn't try & pair St. John's & UofL up in this years tournament.
What are you even talking about.. Who's acting like a "jilted lover" I was never a huge Rick fan.. You don't think Louisville made their name long before Rick ever showed up ? You don't think Rick is all about Rick ? ..Those were my comments they are indisputable . If your answer to either question is "no" you're an idiot..Let’s not act like jilted lovers.
