I was at the game yesterday. It was a decent crowd and it was a bit raucous especially with the group of students who decided to park themselves next to St John's dugout.
I don't think they'll be there today😅 as they likely continued with their festivities at the basketball game. I do think they motivated the Johnnies more than they already were to get win #1.
It does set up for what could be an exciting finish to the series today as both teams dig deep to take the series.

Go get em Cards!

Mac sensing what we all were, tweaking it a bit to get these 2 going for the big 3 behind them to have someone to drive in.
After a loss like Saturday, you know Mac's not sitting still 👏

No disrespect but Moore at .359 and Alicea at .341 have been getting it done. Its the bottom of the lineup that needs more consistency.

Curious to see their OBP. I'm only interested in what have you done for me lately, as I'm sure Mac is,otherwise he wouldn't have switched them. Btw,I'm not advocating for 2 different guys, but obviously he saw something he didn't like.
As far as the bottom, it's constantly being tweaked as Mac tries to let the hotter guys have their shot. Much more pressure on those guys. If they have a 2 game stretch that they don't produce, they're sitting.
Pike is sliding right now and looks like a likely guy to find the pine soon.

Alex would be great in the 9 spot. We have had some fantastic hitters in the position.
I am not what part of the lineup is not producing > in comparison to another part of the lineup. Munroe has been good. T Davis has been pretty good. Hot hasn’t been bad. I think there is production throughout the lineup. There just has to be consistency order to produce at a top 15, or better, level. I am waiting on Early to DH. Don’t i ow if he is coming back from an injury or of something else I snholding him back. But, I’d rather have him DH than anyone else other than Rose.

Moore's OBP is .442 and Alicea is at .426. There are a few guys with higher on base percentages but they are run producing guys, Munroe, Klein and Davis. Rose is at .426.

Again, I'm not saying it should be two different guys. Dan switched them, not me.

Our pitching is a very serious problem, one that has not been corrected. The walks and the HBPs are not only affecting our performance in these games, it suggests that Dan and/or Roger have no idea as to whether our pitcher is remotely prepared to execute. For our relievers, I cannot help but wonder if they are asking the bullpen for guidance as to whether those throwing are ready? I only caught when I played, so in fairness I never pitched, and frankly I was never relegated to catch in the bullpen. With that said, I could tell just from the warmup pitches as to whether my pitcher had control and placement in the zone. If it was evident they did not: I made sure that everyone was aware we had an issue before the batter got into the box. Can anyone shed light on the highlighted question above?

Look for the youngsters to get more chances as we go. I'm gonna let the cake bake a bit like @Bardman as far as the pitching goes. Some are pitching their way out of this conversation and others could be pitching their way in..
